The shop is lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The wines are reasonably priced and you can taste up to five for free. All five of the wines I tried were to die for and if i had more money I would have bought two of everything. Needless to say, I will definately be returning.
Found this little gem after a recommendation from a stranger we met at another winery. The staff were extremely friendly and the wines were out of this world. We had several tastes and had a difficult time deciding what to take home with us. We loved the raspberry wine and the blackberry wine, in addition to several others. Will definitely be back to this winery. Prices are very reasonable. We came home with 6 bottles but could easily have purchased many more. Had to pace our purchases a little.
My husband, I and another couple took the Great River Wine Trail Tour which extended up into Minnesota and Wisconsin. Our last stop was here. Although I have tasted their wine previously I had not actually visited the Winery in Marquette, Iowa.I was excited to finally be able to stop. As I expected all of the wine we tasted was delicious. I bought 3 bottles and I believe our friends bought 2. I would have bought several more because I like so many of them but the master card was saying I was an alcoholic!! Kidding! They were out of my favorite apple wine but heard there might be another batch in the makings. Hope I am able to get a hold of a bottle before it sells out.Thank you for your hospitality and I will be promoting your wine to our local stores here in the Quad Cities. I've already contacted HyVee and am waiting for a response.
The winery was almost closed when we arrived and it was packed but the pourers were right on top of things. You get 5 tastings for free. I'm a dry wine drinker and ended up with 3 bottles. Wine tasting is always fun and this winery is no exception. Worth your time to stop.
Sampled several of the wines. They were all great. Some of the best we have tried. We purchased a bottle of wine and went out side to the patio area We had a wonderful and relaxing afternoon listening to a 2 man band singing and playing. Will for sure go back!!
Eagle's Landing was a nice quiet stop on a rainy day. The gal working was stocking the cooler when I arrived, so it took a minute for her to see I was there, which was fine as there are plenty of wines to see... would be more fun as a group (obviously). Friendly help and tasty sweet wines!
I was told that the local winery in Marquette IA was a good place to step by and the lady from the railroad museum in Marquette was correct. You can taste up to 5 (local) wines and next to the shop is a nice patio to enjoy the selected bottle with friends. It is really the wine tasting and wine shop without the producing area but the choice is good and that is all that matters to me. The staff was very friendly and they knew about the wine they had in the store. Do not expect a huge place, it is pleasantly small and I like that. There are enough large liquor stores or large commercial winery stores in the country already.
We love this winery! They have a great selection of award winning wines- we haven't found one we haven't liked yet. Great value, too. Friendly staff and a nice tasting room, all in a beautiful area of the state.
Tasting the wine is always a fun time and the staff really knew what they were talking about in terms of describing the wine and offering pairing ideas. Eagle's Landing offers a unique selection of wine including a variety of sweet, fruity wines that I haven't seen anywhere other than Eagle's Landing.
Eagles landing has a great selection of fruity wines. The wines are reasonable priced, and if you buy a case, you get an extra dollar off each bottle!
If you enjoy wine tasting, visit this place and have the campfire hooch. Very good if you like semi-sweet wines.
They gave you free samples to taste. The wines are very good and reasonably priced. The lady's at the counter know their wines, were very friendly and helpful.
What a great trip. Our 1st stop was eagles Landing in Marquette. A cozy winery, with a great wine tasting room. They talked to us on grape vines and the growing of grapes in Iowa. Then the group was split in half and one half tasted wine the other took a tour of the manufacturing area. Anyone going to Iowa can't pass this one up.
Tis was the final stop on our Great River Road Wine Trail. The place is in a cute little town, the wine was good and the gals were all friendly. They were whipping up slushy drinks for us to sample. Only one issue was that we wanted to purchase a glass of wine and sit outside and listen to the music -- they can't sell it that way - no license yet. My husband and I have very different tastes. We didn't want to purchase two more bottles (in addition to the four we were taking home with us) just to have one glass. Other than that we liked the place.
We stopped here 2 summers in a row on our way from Minnesota to Guttenberg Iowa. Both times we were able to sample many of the wines and both times we left with cases! I highly recommend the Campfire Hooch! They also have lots of cute wine drinking accessories. The ladies working were very friendly and they liked to recommend different wines for us.If you are driving through this is a neat place to stop!
