Located in Weed Park, the Aquatic Center is a nice addition. With a splash pad for the little ones and water slides for the older kids, it's a great spot to cool off on a hot summer day! Refreshments sold at the snack bar.
While in town for a family reunion, it was great to have such a wonderful place for the families to go. Lots of variety and fun for all!
I like the children's area with the slide, however the water temperature is very inconsistent. We went twice within a few weeks and the water was perfect the first time and freezing the next. So cold that everyone was lingering on the side of the pool...we left after only 30 minutes. If they could solve the temperature issues, it would be a regular stop for us.
Exotic wheather , lash grren carpet lawn , with lots of tourist , food parking is very good nice place to visit
Muscatine does not have a lot to offer which makes this water park look fabulous at first glance. It is clean and very nice looking, but when I took my four year old on a 90 degree day last July, she was begging to go home after 30 minutes in the frigid water with lips blue and shivering. After that experience we visited a similar water park in Bettendorf, an hour away, and found it to be just as nice for half the price AND the water was warm. This year we decided to try Muscatine's aquatic center again for swim lessons, assuming they would heat the pool for early morning in June toddler lessons. No such luck. My daughter begs to get out of the pool halfway through her lesson because she is so cold and some of the other children do the same. When I asked the supervisor why they didn't heat the pool she became very defensive and could not manage to answer the question. We have tolerated the two week swim lessons because there are no other options in this town but from now on we'll be driving to Bettendorf for their far superior water park. Such a shame to build a nice facility only to spoil it with cold water and an unfriendly staff.
I am not a swimmer, but my grandkids love this place. The city has done a good job in seeing that it is clean, safe, and well staffed.
Pros:- the pool is huge - offers several different choices for water slidesCons:- none of the staff were friendly (lifeguards or cashier). If you work at a public pool you should love kids!! - the snack bar area smelled like sewage - I hope that was just an issue that day but it was terrible while standing in line- they've taken out several of the play things from the middle of the pool and haven't replaced them with other options
