We really enjoy visiting the Hat Ranch Winery tasting room. It's location is perfect for a view of the Marsing Valley and the Owyhee Mountain Range. I am particularly impressed by their un-oaked Chardonay. It has a smooth finish without the over powering after taste of oak. Being members of their wine club has been fun because they are a new winery and we get to taste wine that is completely new to the market as soon as it's released, and all new releases have been award wining. Hat Ranch Winery and bed and breakfast is one of the newest under the Snake River Valley appellation. Owners Tim and Helen Harless just opened their tasting room in August of 2012, and is attracting interested wine drinkers from Boise's Treasure Valley. My favorite among the four wines currently in production is their Hat Trick Red a smooth blend of Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah grapes. Another unique touch found in the tasting room are photos and paintings from local artists. "We chose this location because it is the best new wine region in the west," says Helen, and we're glad they did.

The wines are unlike any I've tasted in Idaho and they all have awards. Even their first wines. I also recommend the B&B, large comfortable king sized bed and a killer view of the vineyard and mountains.
