From start to finish my experience was great. We arrived to very friendly staff seating us at out table
Was pleasantly surprised with the evening of fun that we enjoyed here in August 2014. The food was served buffet style and was satisfactory. No beer or wine available for purchase but they did advise us at time we made reservations that we could bring our alcohol. The fun began then after dinner. We attended a show entitled Klondike Kalamity and enjoyed it quite a bit. There was much crowd interaction, however, the popcorn throwing by the small children did get a bit wild at times. The actors were very into their roles and towards the end of the play had a hard time containing their laughter which only made the crowd laugh more. Was surprised to run across this playhouse which is only 20 miles or so from West Yellowstone. Have stayed at West Yellowstone many times and never knew about this place. Will definitely return next time we are in area.
This was the 2nd trip to the playhouse for us. We saw "Les Mis" it was so funny and good. Actors did a great job. The warm up show was hilarious, enjoyed it very much! Dinner was great, and cinnamon rolls (As big as your head) to die for. We had a great time, will definitely do this again soon.
We went to the playhouse to see one of 3 plays they offered. It was a musical entitled "Lucky Stiff". It was your typical summer play with mostly students but was done well. Creative in costuming and scenery. The cast was creative when scenery faltered. The dinner was delicious. Prime rib, baked potatoes, corn, baked beans. It was served buffet style, but it worked. Food was hot. Too bad they let children under 8 into the play. They were a detraction to the play. Price was reasonable. We'll go back.
Worth our money for an evening of dinner and entertainment! The new owners have listened to their guests and made great improvements since last year. We attended Klondike Kalamity, a melodrama, this year and were quite pleased with the show. The actors/actresses were hilarious. Crowd interaction and ad-lib were reminiscent of years past and truly made the show. Young children to adults were involved the entire evening. From throwing popcorn at the villain to cheering the hero we all had a great time. The meal was satisfactory and there was plenty for larger appetites. Choices tonight were pulled pork or barbecued chicken. Dinner was served with a salad, baked beans, baked potato, corn, outstanding rolls and a desert. Be sure to plan on visiting the snack bar during intermission. They really do have cinnamon rolls and cookies as big as your head. Beverages of water, tea and lemonade are included with dinner but not during the show.I look forward to coming back again next year.
I enjoyed the atmosphere at Mack’s Inn Playhouse. Without a doubt a relaxing evening after a hectic day at Yellowstone because nothing bets a simple diner and a funny show for those weary bones. We all laughed, booed the villain and cheered the Canadian Ranger in Klondike Calamity. There’s tasty food about enough to fill you up but not too much to cramp your style. Actors severed before the show and gave us a heads up to throw popcorn at the villain. Needless to say the villain had his own comebacks. Defiantly thumbs up food and 5 star show.
Mack's Inn Playhouse recently came under new ownership, and it has become much better since then. We saw "Lucky Stiff" which was pretty funny, and the young actors were decently talented. As far as the food goes, I would highly recommend the prime rib, it is what I got and it was delicious. My Mom got the salmon, and it was meh. I would recommend coming here, it was a cute show, and the service was really good.
We were visiting in the area and our friends suggested we all go to Mack,s Inn Playhouse. We saw the " Lucky Stiff" . It was very well done and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It started with a very nice dinner! We had the prime rib with all the trimmings. If you are in the area don,t hesitate! It will be a great evening!
This was a delightful find near Island Park. After a really good pulled pork dinner with delicious homemade rolls, baked beans, baked potato, salad and dessert cup, a silky melodrama was performed by students from the Snow College drama department. It was fun to cheer the hero, boo the villain, and laugh at all of the goofy jokes. Fun evening!
The building looks run down and old from the outside - don't be discouraged - inside is great professional entertainment and good food. We've never been to such a funny and interactive show. The jokes and one-liners kept coming throughout this well produced show (we saw Less Miserables - a Whole Lot LESS Miserable). Very family friendly: the kids got some of the jokes, the adults got the rest. The performers who sing and dance do a great job. To top it off, you get a delicious prime rib (recommend!!!) or chicken (don't recommend) dinner served by the performers. We had a diverse group (ages 5 - 75) and everyone had a good time.
My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Mack's Inn Playhouse. We had a very enjoyable meal of dinner salad, salmon, baked beans, baked potato (with sour cream, butter, and chives), corn, roll, and a tasty desert cup. We opted out of the prime rib because we knew we would be eating some other full meals that day. We saw "Lucky Stiff", a very clever musical spoof. We were quite amazed at the quality of the individual and ensemble performances. We had expected to have a night out in the beautiful area and were very pleasantly surprised with the food and performance. Bravo. We will recommend the experience to our family and friends.
It was a great event for all family members, adults and kids alike. Loved the call for audience participation.
We decided to check out the new cast at Mack's Inn Playhouse, and we were pleasantly surprised by how talented each and every one of them were! The show was hilarious, and a couple of the kids had voices that seemed fit for broadway. Seriously. As for the food, (there is also a new chef,) it was better than ever! (i think I ate five rolls.) Thanks for the great weekend. We will be back up as soon as the next show opens. Keep up the good work. For a down home dinner theater in the pines, it doesn't get any better than this!
This is a fun place to take the family and the play we went to was well done. The food served if you get that option is OK...but not the best. All in all it is a fun night.
This was so disappointing. The food was marginal; the acting borderline; but the real disappointment came when they "passed the hat" for tips! We paid a significant amount of money to bring all of our children and grandchildren to this performance and the "tip hat" took the cake. We will not return.
