Good Beer, Good People, determinately Dog friendly. They do a good job of keeping the snack bowls full. One downside for me, is the acoustics of the building make it hard to carry on a conversation when the place has more than a few patrons.
My wife treated me to some beer tasting as part of the Northwest Ale Trail. We dropped by on Valentines day and I tried the sampler of 8 5-oz glasses for $7...what a deal! The selections were varied and good. The only one I did not like was the bitter sour beer, and I really liked the dark malty beer (sorry, I can't remember the name). The sampler was served on a wooden tray in the shape of a dog bone! The snacks were served in stainless steel doggie bowls... too funny! I loved the shirt they had for sale "in Dog Beers I've only had one". Price was more than I wanted to pay, but made me laugh! There were about 7 or 8 dogs that brought their owners. Nice of them to treat their owners to a beer. I want to bring my son and his wife back for a beer tasting, and bring their dog (much better behaved than mine).Nice place to drop by and hang out with friends!
Delicious beer, even cooler that you can bring your dogs into the place! We had to take our Maggie back to the hotel as she got spooked but it was definitely a cool idea. We met some really nice locals from Sandpoint who made the experience even better. Would definitely come back!
Lots of brews to try with many that are only available at the brewery. Dogs are welcome so be sure to bring your four legged friend. Very friendly staff. Ask to see the equipment and be sure to try the Rocket Dog.
We stopped at the Laughing Dog on our way back home from Canada. We stopped to sample the beer. We had a flight of beers (I think it was $7 for 8 beers). The beers were unusual and worth sampling. The server was friendly and so were the other patrons. The only negative was that we arrived with our 3 children (ages 11-13 years). We had planned for them to sit outside and wait for us while we sampled the beers. They were not allowed to sit outside the building or even to sit in our car on their property because of local laws. We had to park the car on a property contiguous to the brewery but not on brewery property (although we could see them) and have the kids wait there until we were finished. So, if you go, make sure not to bring the kids.
They have a nice sampler to try for $7, which is about 8 or 9 different beers on tap. Server was very welcoming. We left with a 6pack and a stamp for our Inland NW Ale Trail map. FYI..They encourage you to bring your own food
First of all, my wife and I love our dog, Griffey. We also happen to really like craft beer. When we found out we could enjoy craft beer with Griffey, It was love at first sight. You feel strange walking in the door with your pup, but then you see that many of the other patrons have their dogs their too. They don't serve food here, but give you free snacks -- served in a doggy dish.Their beer is really good!
Get place. They could have a better location but friendly staff and nice place once inside. micobrew was awsome
We recently went to Laughing Dog Brewery while on a trip to northern Idaho. We loved it! One of us had the sampler, one of us had a pint of the huckleberry cream ale, and one of us had several dog bones and a cold drink of water provided by the brewery! We felt very welcome there. Our dog got lots of attention and spoiled. The beer is EXCELLENT, and we're beer snobs! :-)No food to order, although they'll let you bring in your own from home or another restaurant. They have a complimentary pub mix served in a humans-only dog bowl that is delicious. We had several bowls! One of the best breweries we've ever been to.
If you own a dog and it is well behaved, it is welcome in the brewery as they do not serve food. The beer is great and I say that even though I am not a beer lover. I had the Huckleberry Cream ale. We went into this brewery to view a film on bicycling and felt that we were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. The staff is very friendly and the place is so clean. If you like to meet the locals smile start talking and you learn a lot about the establishment and the area. Also a great place to go after skiing all day.
This is the local friendly place to be. Go give it a try, you will be back soon for more. And make sure you check out the growlers of beer. Need a souvenir, my favorite T shirt saying,"In dog beers, I've only had one"
No kids allowed, but we brought them along with food and sat outside. Enjoyed the beer and my kids got some exposure to a nice dog, which they need.
Relaxed and comfortable spot to enjoy a variety of good beer...several flavors! You get a 'dog dish' of snacks to enjoy with your beer and to share with Dutch, the owners easy going yellow lab.
My husband and I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful experience. Had such a good time and felt so welcome. The bartender, whose name escapes me, was a gem. Gave me lots of different samples to try and really knew his stuff. Loved his story about the beer called "crotch sniffing bast____"! I'll say no more. Gave us a tour of the brewery that was fun and informative. It was a wonderful way to spend an unplanned Sunday afternoon. Loved their welcoming attitude towards dogs. Brought my dachshund in to meet the locals and that was great fun. Looking forward to another visit. Glad we brought our growler.
Enjoy freshly brewed craft beer in a friendly atmosphere. Free nibbles provided and furry friends including dogs are welcome. Try the beer sampler to decide which beer is your favorite. A great place to stop in after a day of skiing at Schweitzer, hiking or biking in the Sandpoint area.
