This trail is a very rough trail but it ends up with a relaxing ending but it's fun for family and teens because the hills can wear your child out and they will quit.
This is a popular MTB trail connecting to the Williams Creek trail for a shorter loop or a longer ride down to the Salmon River through Carol Kings ranch. Moderate difficulty but really spectacular.
Awesome ride, plenty challenging for this not-so-seasoned mt. biker, fantastic views… and you earn your Smiley Creek milkshake once it's all over. Have a blast!
I've commonly heard this Fisher Creek Loop referred to as the "Best Trail in Idaho". It's hard to argue with that. There's a nice gradual uphill at the beginning that ends with a steep section that's easy to walk up. The downhill is through fun, flowing single track.I like to start at Williams Creek and ride up the highway for 2 miles and then take a left up Fisher Creek. It's a nice gradual 6-7 mile uphill on a dirt road. At the top you take a left on a well marked single track trail. There's a 10 minute climb at the end and then more fun single track down to the car at Williams Creek.Have fun!
This is a very popular destination for Mountain Bikers and the trails are both beautiful and challenging. If Mountain Biking is your sport - you should definitely check it out!
17 miles of great fun. Start at Williams creek and ride the loop counter clock wise - ride/climb out the dirt road until you hit the single track. Though portions were affected by fire this is still a classic ride. Great riding surface and loads of fun.. beautiful views and great downhill sections to let it go.. enjoy
As one mountain bike book says "put on your fun hat"! But, it's not easy, it's pretty kick b*tt to get to the top. Some of it is still burnt from a fire around 7 years ago, but most is pretty. Great views. This ride has it all. The quintessential MB ride. The downhill back to the beginning is awesome. Probably a 2.5 hour ride.
Great mountain biking, incredible view on top, should see this in the fall or winter on snowmobiles.
Can't miss, great ride. Good climb, fantastic descent. Worth the drive. Don't forget the post-ride milkshake at Smiley Creek.
I have hiked, ridden horseback and hunted all through this area.Hiking back into Mountain Home Canyon or Iron Basin you can see Deer, Elk, Moose, Wolves, Mountain Sheep and Goats... I've even seen a Lynx while muzzle loading there... just fantastic country... this is the REAL Outdoors.
this trail has it all. steep, and tecnical at times. just don't get lost. the first time we did this trail, we had to figure out where we were. this trail is great, streams, forests, views, and is long enough to really make you feel like you road a back country trail!!!
Fisher Creek to Williams Creek is a trail you must do. The up hill is all on a forest road, with one really big rocky climb that seems to last forever. Once at the top, it's all single track downhill from here. Hardly any rocks, very smooth. Watch out for the steep drop offs towards the top. Starts and ends out in the dusty sage brush, but the majority of the trail is in a green, lush, mountain forest.
