Stopped in to try out the "famous" crabcakes. 6 ounce beauty loaded with jumbo lump crab meat broiled to perfection. Started with the Buffalo shrimp for an app which was pretty good. We also tried the barbecued salmon blt - not much to talk about and the salmon was on the fishy side. Service was average. If you're looking for a great crab cake and dive bar this is the place.
We've had crab cakes from DC to Baltimore to the Eastern Shore and I have to say these are the best. We also got a quesadilla that was incredibly thick and good. Definitely a dive bar but worth a visit!
We recently visited Dewey Beach on a cold November weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The bartender at Starboard and the clerk at our hotel both suggested Woody's for the best crab cake ever. There are not a whole lot of places open in November at Dewey but fortunately this was one of them that was. It's not a large place so I would imagine you have to fight for a space at the peak of the season. Service was good and the food is as well. I got the raspberry salad with the crab cake. The menu said the crab cake was $11 but it rang up as $12. Oh well. A very plentiful and tasty cake. I don't know how it stays together but it does. You won't be disappointed.
Tried the Crab cake after reading about it in both the Times & local Beach papers. Wasn't what I expected although the portion was good and the crab plentiful. My wife loved hers but I thought that it lacked a true crabby taste. Seemed as though it boiled too long.
