Great fun racing with my 12 year old daughter. Become a member and get some discounts. Short track but the carts are fast. We raced together one mid week early in the day and we raced together, we were the only people there. But usually they separate the kids cart and adult.
I stopped here in 2011 and my son was a month too young so now we were down for another Nascar weekend and found this place was still here. It was $20 for him to drive a car for 8 minutes at this one indoor track. He had fun, took some time to get the hang of the speed these cars have. They fit him for a helmet and there's a neck brace, you need a $2 head sock. There's a quick briefing of the rules. We were only there about 15 mins total I think. I found the workers to be helpful and friendly, it wasn't overly busy on this Sat at near dinner time.
Fun time for the family guys (Pop Pops, grandson, Uncles, Dads & Cuz), while the gals shop in peace!!!!
This place is quite possibly one of the most enjoyable and unique places to go in delaware. On the weekends when you have nothing to do and everything is closed for the night, guess who is open? MID ATLANTIC GRAND PRIX IS WHO!!! The karts are fast, the employees are laid back and nice, and the facility is sweet. One thing that i most enjoy about this place is that the employees will speak to you on the level that you speak to them. If your laid back and happy, they will be laid back and happy, if your serious and just want to race, they will do their job to get you out there as fast as they can. All in all, i give this place a 5 out of 5 and hope it stays around for a good long time.
The guy in the race track is terrible, kids cannot have fun. Kick out somebody who got bump from behind and accidentally hit the car in front of him. Claiming that the kid bump 3 times. Finally, the manager came out and watch the next race. It's better with the manager around. Definately, they need better employee if not put camera in the race to review the race.
One of my favorite things is to race go karts. I've been to several indoor tracks over the years, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. The offer weekly specials and membership levels that offer discounts including a free race during your birthday month. You see all ages here from about 12 to 60. The cars are very fast and you can request to be placed in groups of racers who are more experienced/faster or new/slower. Don't assume by slower I mean slow. But for newbies it will help you get use to the course and the cars if you request to be in a grouping of newer racers. I've seen racers with 23 second laps...very fast. (mine is only 26, and I'm soooo jealous of those 3 seconds!).It is also a great date night...assuming your gal doesn't mind getting her hair flattened a little by the helmet! Having beat more then one date at go kart racing, I also recommend this activity for determining your potential mate's ego! LOL You can bring or purchse a headsock. You get to keep it so bring it each time. Their helmets are sanitized between races but I prefer to use a headsock regardless. They have drink machines onsite. They do birthday parties, offer training clinics and they do have league racing. There is plenty of parking. It is located behind a rental storage facility so although you can see the sign from the road, you kind of feel like you can't find it. Just pull past the storage facility and you will find a nice brick industrial building -- the track is located inside and is well marked.
