Great park for all types of activities, fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, pick-nicking and more. Great trails well marked some take you past Mason-Dixon Line monuments that bisect section within the park. Trout fishing on the White Cay Creek and great archery and shotgun hunting as well. I'm not a mountain biker but it seems to be very popular with them and it also shares borders with Middle Run Park (New Castle County park) so there must be miles and miles of trails for hikers and bikers.
This is a beautiful park that has never been overrun with people when I have been there. I take a few hours in a morning or afternoon and go fly fishing on the East branch of the White Clay Creek. I like it better than the middle branch but both are a nice afternoon walking from pool to run to pool in the quest of fooling some fish. People are all friendly and courteous for us fly fishers.
I love White clay for biking especially. From my home in Pa. I can ride 14 miles round trip through the park into downtown Newark and the Pomeroy trail. The park has well maintained trails and bridges and many lovely scenic spots along the way. It is popular for trout fisherman and hikers. Too shallpw for tubing but lovely to behold, a day on the park is a bit of paradise
I've lived in the southeastern PA area for many years and this is by far the best and most convenient park for me to visit locally. It's large enough that you can go on longer hikes or mountain bike trips and not take the same route. The trails are fairly easy from a hiking perspective with minor elevation changes in some areas. Depending on your mountain biking skill level, the trails might be a little more challenging for beginners but you can easily pick the right trails to keep things easy. There are many entrances and places to park all around the park both in DE and PA. You can go for a short hike or string together loops and hike for many miles.
Beautiful scenery with miles and miles of running, hiking, or cycling trails, including a skills trails with skinnies, rock gardens, and ramps.I ran cross country throughout the park in high school and still return to run or simply enjoy the sights of the park. In the winter, the larger mowed areas are perfect for sledding at the main parking lot, and during the fall the leaves are amazing. The restrooms are clean enough, and the picnic and pavilion areas are fairly standard. If you enjoy running or cycling, I cannot recommend White Clay enough. All of the trails are clearly marked, including a 5k and 10k race course and you can go as far as you want and never double back. The park itself extends into Pennsylvania, and if you visit the nature center, the ranger station is packed with lots of information about the local wildlife and the history of the park.Be warned that when it rains a lot, many areas take a long time to drain, so be mindful of where you step.
My friend and I take our dogs to White Clay Creek State Park quite frequently. It's a great place with tons of trails. I enjoy it.
Love this park, lots of great trails to run and bike on. Technical park for mtn bikers - super fun. Lots of wildlife in and around the creek. Nice escape from urban life.
Park is nice, clean, reasonable fee requested to visit, however difficult to find parking at the numerous locations offered other than front location. Street signs not maintained and drove around for an hour trying to find a trip advisors recommended spot for kids to float in shallow creek in tube. Bring water and snacks and be prepared for an adventure if you are not familiar with the park!
I love the location where I walk with dog off of corner ketch road. It's relaxing and peaceful.I definitely would like to explore more of park!
I Mountain Bike the Trails and volunteer for the park occasionally. There are miles and miles of scenic trails worthy of a quick rip or a long tour. Stop to enjoy the beautiful bridges that cross several of the creeks and streams. Not very challenging but very fun single track.
The Harvest Moon walk was a pleasant ~2 hr evening/night walk on mostly level and prepared surfaces. Nice for a family.
Both White Clay Creek State Park (Delaware) and White Clay Creek Preserve (Pennsylvania) are local gems. We love to walk along the Creek with the dog on weekends. I am really blessed that the park and preserve are local. Check out phone apps and maps to see the various paths. Also, there are a few historical markers in the park related to the Mason-Dixon line, which has its 250 anniversary this year. Including d'Mark West, Tri-State Corner and the Arc monument.
This park is great! It's got a fitness trail, a nice shady pavilion, and tons of room to roam. I haven't seen any shows here yet but they've got a huge stage I bet is great for outdoor shows.
Btween Newark and Wilmington this isa great park for hiking and bking. Well maintained, easy access. Great small nature center for programming. trout fishing in the area just not had a chance for that yet but will have to do.
quiet and attractive park with an interesting old house, wildlife pond, and a network of paths, some wild, some "tame."
