An easy super short hike to see this arch. What I liked about it was walking, hiking, through the stadium of rock to get to area to get a good look at this arch. The remains of a section of the arch, the inner section, are still in a giant pile below. You can walk right up near the arch and onto the fallen rock. When I said stadium of rock earlier, you walk through a big wide flat area with large rock rimming that area. It was very comfortable in there because it blocked to cool wind at the time for us. Awesome place, I remember it vividly.

You can see this arch from the road and many simply continue driving. There is a very small pull-off parking lot and the trailhead leads slightly uphill all the way to the base of the arch. We call it "our arch" because in January there was no one, and I mean no one, at the arch besides us - which made it a really exceptional experience.

Since we were covered new ground this morning, having just made the loop hike to Sand Dune, Broken and Tapestry Arches, we figured we should take in Skyline Arch as well, seeing as we have not made that short walk before. We (my wife, sister-in-law and I) made the short drive north along the park road to the pullout and were fortunate to find a place to park. The place was mobbed at 10:30, but I found a place to squeeze our SUV in and we hopped out to check the views. Skyline Arch is clearly visible from the parking area, and I think the best views are just a bit further up along the trail (a hundred yards or so), sort of the highpoint where you can take in the arch in the entire fin in which it resides. We read the signage about the huge boulder that fell out of the arch about in 1940, the debris of which still lies below the arch, so that gave us another reason to take the short walk to the base of the arch.Like most of the named arches in the park, Skyline’s moniker is well suited for this natural wonder. The arch is along the top edge of the tall fin, so certainly part of the skyline of the park. The trail to the arch is flat and over sandy terrain, but overall easy. Some of the folks we passed on the way to the arch reported a snake sighting in the rumble below the arch; OK, not that I was planning on climbing on the rock, but now I’ll certainly stay clear. The clouds were still breaking up, so there was more blue sky providing the background for the arch, so we had a very nice view of the arch and the surrounding area with plenty of light and color. We rounded the smaller fin that sits in front of Skyline Arch and found the large pile of rocks that used to be the huge boulder that fell from the arch. That would have been a bad scene if there were folks in the area when the rock fell. We were cautious around the rumble pile, but saw no snakes, which was fine by me.The roundtrip walk is 0.4 miles and only took us about 15 minutes. As mentioned, I think the best views of the arch are just a hundred yards from the parking area, but it is worth walking to the arch to get the up close perspective. I think this is an easy walk that almost anyone could make. But it is sandy in spots along the trail, so be careful. Note that the trail is exposed, so take the proper precautions, even if it is just a short walk in the desert.

This was another arch where I hiked to from a different area. I passed the parking area because it was completely full, but I found a nice pull off just past the parking lot. This is another amazing arch in the park, still crowded but with a little patience you can get a picture that is clear of other Skyline Arch visitors.

One of the smaller arches in the park, but worth a walk if you have the time. In comparison to others it doesn't stand out, but as people don't really stop there it was also one of the quieter ones.

This park has so many beautiful arches. This may be one of the best. Easy access and a nice short hike.

Lisamarch

This one seems less popular with the tour bus people. It's a very easy walk -- flat -- and beautiful.

Imposing arch visible from the road.

I was most intrigued by the fact that from a distance the arch was at an angle but up close it was straight. It is a nice walk out to it.

this was an easy walk. very pretty when the sun is hitting it just right. i think i just love all the arches... you can visit a lot of the arches in one day (start early). i did and my favorite is still delicate arch.

This was the arch that was doubled in size when a huge block fell.Mentioned in the film at the reception area.Easy walk from the roadCloser you can see the pension by boulder that fell.

You can see this arch from the nearby road and many people just parked snapped a picture and left. However, my wife and I decided to get closer and consider it well worth the effort. We met somebody coming back from the rock who said he had sen people sat in the middle but couldn't work out how they got there as the rock was a sheer face, however reading other people's reviews there must be a way. Due a shortage of time we took our snaps and header back but I would certainly recommend this to any adventurer.Cost of entrance to the whole park is $25 or an annual ticket is $80 and it takes about 40 minutes to drive from the park entrance to the Devil's Garden trailhead (without stopping).I would recommend going to the furthest point and working your way back but then we only had a day to do it all.

This is a nice easy hike. I loved seeing this arch everytime we drove back to our campsite. It is also very easy to access if you are staying in the Devils Campground.
