也是拱门公园的一个标志性神奇拱门,已经很薄了从停车场走过去大概40分钟吧不适合中午过去,太阳在正上不好看据说以前可走近一点,现在都围起来了看那样子真担心不知什么时候会塌不可错过的景点
This Arch is located on the Devil's Garden Trail and is the longest of all the arches. Because of its instability visitors may no longer hike under the arch but an observation area is located close by. Hiking beyond this point is primitive and not for those with a fear of heights as the trail becomes much steeper and includes many large drop offs.
This is part of the Devil's Garden area, which I reviewed in more detail at the Devil's Garden Trailhead page. The hike to check out Landscape Arch is quite easy, very well-traveled and easy to follow, and, if you continue along the fenced areas, you get several nice views of it (and of Double-O Arch, from a distance). If you're just looking for a simple jaunt, hike out to this one, wander a bit along the fenced areas, then head back to the trailhead and continue on elsewhere. If you're looking for more than that, you can always tack on the primitive loop to get a closer look at some other arches, but be warned that the primitive loop is much more challenging than the hike to Landscape Arch!
Grand span, so delicate in its nature, hanging high above the trail, splitting the sky in half. Watching it you are afraid it is going to collapse any second. And it will some day. So rush to see it!
I say this arch is a must see because it has set some records it terms of its size and it is due to collapse one of these years as pieces of it have been falling off lately. The hike there is relatively easy- it is out in the sun, so it gets very hot. It is also super crowded. And it is sandy, which always makes it tricky to walk on. You cannot get too close to it as they have it blocked off, but you can still appreciate its span from the viewpoint. My family and I started our hike through Devil's Garden here, so it was a nice quick stop along the way. Even if you do not want to hike for a long time, I do encourage you to at least hike out to this viewpoint.
This is a bit of a hike to get to, but really easy. I saw a lot of photos but was disappointed that you really can't get a great shot as the trail ends well short of the arch - and the reason being that a section fell away and they want to keep folks away and safe! In the winter watch for ice on the trail, maybe take some cleats for your shoes - they sell them at the Visitor's Center.
I saw this in November when there was no snow and then in December after a snow storm. I could believe how much more beautiful it is when it's blanketed by snow. And the views along the trail to get here was much more stunning. But if you are here when there's no snow, it's still a worthwhile trek - definitely one of the most beautiful arches in the park and deserving of it's popularity as a tourist stop here. They don't allow you to walk under this particular arch since a chunk of it fell off before. Except I still see idiots bypassing the fence and walking around. But the viewing areas are close enough to really appreciate this arch.
We were here in the heat of summer, and the hike wasn't too bad as it's relatively level and there are a couple areas to stop along the way to rest in the shade. Yes, it's difficult to get a good angle for a photo because they've limited the viewing area due to the collapse of part of it a few years ago. You must stay on the trail as they don't want you to damage the delicate desert soil. The trail to the arch is paved part way and hard packed for some, but the last bit is through soft, deep sand, making for tougher walking that would probably wear out a camel.
Easy to get to from the main road and a good final destination if you haven't come with proper footwear. Good stop for those going on to Double O and Dark Angel.
The arch is very beautiful and really thin and the hike is very easy. It is not good for photography though. Didn't get proper light at any time of the day. Also the backdrop is very boring.
Could have spent all day there .very hot and ran out of water .the park has well paved roads .worth the trip.
I have another review of Arches NP. It basically says to take your umbrellas for sun protection in the summer months.
A very cool and very large arch located in Devils Garden in the park. It can only be seen by taking a walk on a relatively level and well-maintained trail for about 15 minutes. It's getting thinner and thinner, so it's hard to know how much longer it will last - so it's well worth the walk to get here - and as an added bonus there are many other beautiful landscapes and arches to see along the way. Highly recommend!
It's the second coolest arch of the national park. The first obviously is the delicate arch. It's located on the north side of the park in the Devils Garden area. It's a short walk/hike of 1.5 miles along a well maintained trail.A few slabs fell of the thinnest section of the arch in early 90's. So check this out while it lasts
Almost hard to find in the surrounding landspace as you hike up, this arch is the longest in the park. Follow the trail from the initial view point to a small "under look" closer to the arch for absolutely stunning views! Continue onto the primitive trail from here to see many more formations!
