On our way out of Island in the sky, outside Moab, we stopped for a quick look and ended up staying for over an hour. Then we brought our friends back for late afternoon wine and cheese. This is a gorgeous view of the canyon and the road leading though it. We first watched a group make their way down on bicycles. (I hope they had an easier way out because it was a long way down with many switchbacks.)The view was fantastic. We began by stopping at a viewing area along the road. Then we made our way out on to the mesa. This was a very special area. You could get to the edge of the cliff and see forever. The afternoon shadows into the valley from the setting sun were amazing.
