A very highly recommended, perhaps even necessary part of your trip if you plan to visit almost anywhere within the Grand Staircase. We rented a Jeep for a whole day (8 hours). Jeff was great in giving advice as he has been out there himself, and he had all the maps prepared and recommendations on where to go to. I had already researched where I wanted to visit but having that first hand advice was much appreciated and helpful. If you did not plan where you wanted to visit, he can help you out there so you don't waste any time on your trip.We took the Jeep out to Coyote Gulch and Peek-a-boo / Spooky Canyons. I've seen people commenting that the Hole-in-the-Rock road is passable by regular passenger vehicles. For the love of your pretty city car, don't even try. The Jeep handled the bumps and potholes along that road smoothly, and the 4x4 was very necessary to get to those adventurous side roads too.It certainly does come at quite a price tag, but there aren't many other choices out here, and it does give you a peace of mind that you will be able to travel about safely and return in one piece to your nice and clean family car.

We found High Adventure Rentals on a lark, and we are so glad we did. We had quite an adventure and we saw things we never would have seen otherwise. Jeff, the owner, was very knowledgeable, helpful, outgoing, and friendly. He made sure we were well informed, prepared, and equipped to drive the rough desert roads. Jeff maintains his equipment very well, and our rental performed exceptionally well. Our drive out to Coyote Gulch was bumpy and rough, but the view was worth the trip.

High Adventure ATV/Jeep Rentals was the the Great. We rented a Jeep for 8 hours Jeff was the best. I read all the reviews and to tell the truth was a little skeptical of all the high marks and nothing but praise for them. It is all true!!! You could not make me say one bad thing. We will be back. So much more to see and do.

Getting to the spectacular Peek-A-Boo & Spooky slot canyons near the town of Escalante, UT is no small feat! The last thing we wanted was to get lost or stuck in the ruts or mud in our airport rental car on unpaved and potentially treacherous roads. The folks at High Adventure totally took care of us. Our Jeep rental was awesome and we & our 2 children had a blast!

As a seasoned adventurer I express some mixed feeling about High Adventure ATV Rentals. The experience was great fun, no question, but at $275 with nothing provided such as a cooler or ice, it is the most expensive one day ATV rental I have ever paid. The documentation is onerous, but not necessarily because of the operators, it is a function of the regulations. Be prepared to drive across large areas of the desert seeing near nothing, until you arrive at your destination. Not a problem for me, but be prepared. Do not take anyone under the age of 16. Take lots of water, a bandanna, goggles etc. Some parts of the trails do indeed require experience, they are not of the faint of heart, and they might well require someone with upper body strength who can lift an ATV. Yes, I recommend this company, but be prepared for surprises, including having to stop to help strangers who drive their two-wheelers into the ditch Where I come from, we are required, by law to stop, so we did. Be sure to drive only during daylight hours. The owner/operator is great guy but he is stretched thin, especially if he has to respond to a desert incident, even one not involving his ATVs. Carry more water than you think you need.

I didn't rent an ATV from High Adventure but they'd be the source if I needed to. Instead, I was staying for the first time in Escalante to try some new trails in the nearby Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument and the Dixie National Forest. One day hike is best done as a one-way 9-mile trip instead of an 18-mile round trip, which requires a shuttle to get to the upper trailhead. The owner of my B&B recommended that I contact Jeff at High Adventure to arrange the shuttle. We spoke before I arrived and I reserved a time. The price was very reasonable, and Jeff, who drove me up to the trailhead is extremely nice, friendly and knowledgeable about local hiking and camping options, including many that aren't in the guide books.

This was fun but Jeff, the rental agent, really made it great. He sat down with us for at least 30 minutes and went over all of the maps, recommended places to go, places to skip and lots of landmarks and things not on the maps. We rented for half a day and went out to devils garden, which was pretty neat (I think we would have been fine in getting there in a car), then went down Collet Canyon which was definitely ATV only territory. We rented a Razor which had a pretty nice ride and was a solid machine. They gave us a tiny GPS unit, which helps, but the map is necessary. No turn by turn directions from the GPS. They also gave us a GPS locator with a help and 911 button that made us feel quite safe out there.

We rented four ATVs here in April. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. We had a great time on the trails around Escalante for the day. On the way into the station one of our riders got a flat tire. The staff were more concerned that we had had a good time and not about the flat tire. We would definitely rent from them again and recommend them to our friends and family.

We rented a couple of Commanders to get out to Spooky and Peek-a-Boo slots. Saved us quite a hike and 4-wheeling down Cedar Wash was a lot of fun too. Put this on our must do list when visiting Escalante!

We rented a razor from Jeff. It was so much fun! Lots of laughs and places to see in beautiful Escalante. Jeff was helpful with his directions and suggestions for places to go and see. He also helped us get ready with water and loaned us a cooler for our food. I would highly recommend this outfit and activity as it gave us good memories of our trip to Utah. Half the fun was driving the razor.

Great people! Very helpful and knowledgeable. They made our trip and we will definitely go back. Forget Bryce and Zion, Escalante rules!

This terrific company makes so many things possible in the Escalante area that you would not be aware of, and if you were aware of them, Jeff gives you an education on them that you would not have learned on your own. In advance of your visit, he works out a detailed map showing you how to get to all of the places of interest with extra side notes to help you even more. The vehicles that you rent from High Adventure are in perfect shape and the company takes pride in providing that. They supply you with coolers, extra gas, maps, a GPS system, and a device to call into them if you are going to be late in getting back. They can track where you are in case of an emergency. They are friendly and professional with their ultimate goals being your safety and that you have a great time which they accompish very well. Their establishment is spotless and offers just about anything you might need for your day as far as food and supplies at reasonable prices. Their staff is friendly and happy to see you! I know that they now offer a variety of tours that Jeff will take you on if you do not want to venture out on your own. I have no doubt they would be fabulous with his extreme knowledge of the area and the fun stories that he shares with you. We rented a jeep one day for 8 hours and an ATV the next day for 8 hours. We have been home for several days now and still are talking about the fun and outstanding service this company provided for us. We can't wait to go back as there is still so much more to see!

My husband and I wanted a way to get to the many areas of Grand Staircase National monument. Seeing as many of the points of interest are many, many miles down dirt roads we decided we would rent a commander. We were able to get to the slot canyons, caves, dinosaur fossils, devils garden, and many more. The High Adventure Staff sent us out wit a detailed map of the interest points we selected, a GPS, and a satellite device to call for help or 911 (there is no cell service anywhere in this area). While on our trip we blew a flat tire 30 miles away. The Staff responded to our call and drove out a truck and trailer, brought us a new commander, and took the broken down one back. Not only did they bring us another machine to continue on our trip, but they credited us the time that it took for them to get out to us. We were VERY pleased that we would be able to see all the sights we had planned on!!!!It was a unique experience and a really fun way to explore. We had a wonderful time, and were glad that we decided against taking our rental car 30 miles down the dirt road! **I would strongly recommend the 8 hour rental! There is a lot to see and it takes a fair amount of time to drive to many of the interest points!

Renting a vehicle from this business is so much more positive than from other vehicle rental organizations. Jeff actually sits down with you to go over the specifics of the vehicle and joins you to look over the status of the machine. He is kind, flexible and responsive. The "neighborhood" can't be beat.

We stopped in Escalante on our way from Bryce Canyon to Moab for lunch on the recommendation of a guide we met in Zion and it did not disappoint. We ordered salads, pizza and a few beers and were absolutely amazed at how good all of the food was, most especially the pizza. We're from NYC where we can get crazy good pizza and this rivals any of the best pizza I've had here. Seriously, you have to make a stop here if you're going from Bryce to Moab. Take the long scenic route and stop in Escalante. The store and restaurant were super cute, the waitress at the restaurant was so nice, and the food was wonderful.
