yuba lake state park

We spent the 13-15th at Yuba. We had dogs (so did everyone else) and it was great for them. The lake was windy, choppy and pretty chilly, but it IS June. So I won't completely write Yuba off just yet. We ended up spending about 3/4 of the day waiting for the wind to die down and eventually got some smooth water to ride on. I'll be back eventually and hopefully the weather will improve the next time.

How did I not know about this place?! It's like a mini Lake Powell, but way closer to Salt Lake and with the added bonus of a plethora of ATV trails. A friend told me about Yuba when I was searching for a place to ride the ATVs that would be kid friendly. One trip and we were hooked. We now even keep our boat there year round. Also, there was talk that they were going to get a zip line next year.. Hope that happens! How cool would that be?!

Nice picnicing spot while traveling down I-15. Entrance fee is required to use the facilities. Fishing, swimming in warmer months. Ices over during winter months. No services other than restrooms.

We go here yearly and find a great place to park under the trees. Then we can walk on the sandy shore to swim or get in the boat to ride around. Great fun.
