Homestead Resort Golf Course is now Crater Springs Golf Course. The pluses include the reasonable rates for Seniors after noon, the greens are in good shape, the pro shop is friendly particularly Rick. There is quite a bit of scenery with views, trees, plants and water features. Now for the minuses. The rough is very thick and those same water features can be sneaky and jump and grab your ball. The course is popular and gets a very heavy level of play. They have a sporadic Marshall who showed up one time. They need him to show more often. Sometimes the cart paths are not easily defined and that can be tricky for a new player. There are too many areas roped off which requires extra walking and slows the pace of play. There's a good variety of holes. The par fives are manageable, and the par 4s are doable. A good test of golf in a nice areaIt's kind of a fun to play golf course.
What a nice course, wonderful staff and golfers. Beautiful, fun and a great course to try. Well groomed greens and beautiful scenery. After the tournament we were treated to a yummy Mexican Buffet and hosted bar. The food was fresh and tasty, and the staff awesome!
Good conditions, cart girl, good senior price. Very scenic and good service by staff. The pro shop is away from parking lot but staff gives a cart to access it.
Definitely a good golf course with a lot of fun holes. Tougher than most courses to walk, I'd definitely get a cart. Definitely a must in Midway.
My husband and I play this course several times each season and it only seems to get better. It is a fun, playable course for ladies. Not to long and not short. The par 3's are so much fun. I was 2 inches from a hole-in-one on #12! The pro shop staff is always friendly and the snack & beverage ladies are wonderful. They have some really good rates right now- $25 after 2 pm, the golf & dinner package is fun. The course is celebrating its 25th year-congrats!! I worked here when it first opened & our wedding pictures were taken on the course. Nice to see it still so beautiful.
Nice scenery but very poorly run. Lost our 2 night reservation (prepaid package from Group On). Would have been turned away if we didn't have our e-mail receipt. Took over 45 minutes for us to get a room assignment. Front desk personnel didn't seem to know what they were doing and didn't seem to really care. Room was nice. Sconce lamp next to bed coming out of the wall but still worked. Refrigerator in room turned off. Not good to chill our bottle of white wine but it cooled fairly quickly after we turned it on. Group On Package was supposed to include a continental breakfast which we didn't get. They had no idea what we were talking about. Had to wait to check out due to the woman in front of me having a long list of complaints about the service. Tried to charge me for the room at checkout. Didn't have any idea that we had prepaid. Again so glad I brought a copy of my e-mail receipt. Will not be back to this Resort which is a shame because it has a lot of potential if it was maintained and run appropriately.
This course is challenging but fun. The marshalls were very friendly and the amenities were abundant. Say hello to Ms "San Francisco", the beer cart lady :)
Loved the peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, golf, natural hot springs, and good restraunts. The staff was just great and the pools were great.
Great course, beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountains. Wonderful town to visit, Midway and Heber City. I like the Spin Café in Heber City too.
The morning was a little soggy. It rained all night. Showers in the morning but stopped just before tee time. We had to play around the puddles. If you don't hit it perfect shot you'll need to find another ball in your bag because its history.
We golfed at Crater Springs Golf Course (formerly Homestead Resort) in Midway Utah. The course was beautiful. They improved several holes with interesting and challenging water features. The golf shop staff were very helpful and quite nice. After our round we had a late breakfast at the Homestead Grill. An omelette and eggs Benedict - very tasty.
I was staying at the Zermatt Resort for business which is across the street from this golf course. I was thrilled to be able to get out one late afternoon to play a round here. They had several options for rentals and offered a very good twilight rate. The course is very well maintained and has a wide variety of different types of holes. There are many scenic views with majestic mountains in the background. The folks in the Pro Shop were very nice and I am very happy I got to play a round of golf here.
This course is terrific! Beautiful views, stunning scenery, challenging holes. The golf shop & staff are very nice. Then there's the resort itself where you can stay, eat, play, and so on. The rooms are a little bit old fashioned, kinda country décor in some, but quite nice. Many family reunions or special annual-type trips happen here. I love their pools, the outdoor one is huge and wonderful (!) and then there is the "crater" which is like a natural hot spring-pool-cavern - hard to describe. It costs extra & you need an appointed time/reservation. Lots of people scuba dive there, take their 'check-out' dive, etc. It's kinda freaky-cool. The Homestead is steeped in history, and a wonderful Utah attraction.
I hadn't played here for quite a while and looked forward to playing again. I wasn't disappointed. The course offers a variety of holes, is well maintained, and the carts are all equipped with electronic geo screens for tracking your play. Definitely worth the trip.
Beautiful well kept golf course. They provide you tees, and nice lady drives around the snack and drink cart, you can't bring your own food on the course. There are alot of deers to see on the course. Bring extra balls, lots of water, and the balls are lost easily.
