Had a great experience with Sonny climbing Prophesy Wall near St George. A+ Zion Mountain Guides were responsive and accommodating.

Went with 7 of us (3 adults, 4 children ranging from 10-17) on a full day tour. Amazing from start to finish. Matt, our guide gave us great information about the area, geography, history. He taught us so much about rock climbing and rappelling. He varied his routes to challenge our very skilled male 17 year old and supported our brave 10 year old girl and everyone was thrilled. We sang a song "it's all about that Matt, no trouble" through the whole day because Matt made everything enjoyable with no worries. He maximized every second of the trip and we truly got our money's worth. He practically ran from one place to another because we were so eager (we kept up and encouraged it!!). He had us hooked up safely and we heaved ourselves over cliffs faster than any other group around that we could see (and he tried to take us places where others weren't). He was not a "clock watcher". He got in so many rappels and the cost was so very reasonable -- we felt so grateful and satisfied by the end (rather than feeling "incomplete"). Also, to comment on the office -- they were extremely responsive to me from my annoying information-gaining calls to the final booking. We even had a little financial glitch that was handled so kindly and responsively. I cannot express how great this experience was. I will admit that going "off season" helped a ton in terms of crowds but Matt and his company just helped maximize it even more. Matt went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Worth every penny. Thank you to Matt and the company. Follow their directions for water and clothing! Lots of water, comfortable clothing, they provide shoe help for water areas.

We had the most amazing day with our guide Jack on the Zion Rock & Mountain rappelling adventure. Jack was the perfect guide in every way. I am not a hiker and none of us had ever rappelled before. Jack was motivating in a very calm and gentle way. He made us feel so safe while encouraging us to be brave and adventurous. He is an experienced mountaineer but also a natural teacher. He explained clearly how all the equipment works and helped us feel very calm and safe whenever we were nervous or scared. We were all impressed with Jack's knowledge of the area and his skills as a guide. But most of all we were impressed by Jack's kind and fun personality. He made us laugh, helped us relax, and made our day in the mountains of Zion the best experience ever. Thanks Jack! Gina

Just returned from a day trip with Jack as our guide. He took my sisters and mother (74 yrs old) hiking and rappelling. He was patient with us and made all of us feel safe. He taught us all about the equipment and explained to us exactly how to navigate each cliff. This was especially appreciated since it was our first time rappelling. My mother was a little worried and nervous about the rappels but Jack put her mind at ease and talked her through it all. She was so happy that she was able to experience it. (If a 74 year old grandma can make it down those walls, there is no reason anyone not to take advantage of this wonderful experience!) We saw some beautiful land and Jack made the experience fun and casual. Thanks for the great hike!! Christy

Called several times to schedule a sunset tour but never got a response back. We thought about stopping by the office to make a reservation but then decided not to due to lack of response by the company.

We signed up for an all day Canyoneering trip with a private guide while vacationing at Zion. We were fortunate that the better known adventure companies were fully booked and had the opportunity to experience the real deal. Our team of three - my two teenage sons and their 50+ year old mother met our guide Will just after 6:30 am. There had been storm the day before and we headed out to one of the more spectacular canyons, Yankee Doodle Canyon, that Will thought would give us what we wanted - a challenging adventure off the beaten path. We were completely comfortable with Will and impressed by his clear lack of experience and real world know-how. The capstone of the day was rappelling into a slot canyon full of water and swimming to the end. I am planning to return with my husband in the spring and plan a week of adventure activities with Zion Rock!

Excellent service! Dean Junior ensured that we were fully geared to really enjoy the Zion narrows (good tips and even landed us a gas bottle that we needed). He also moved our car to the right spot because we were to sleepy in the early morning and had put it in the wrong parking! Can't wait to go back and do some climbing with the team. Thanks again!

We drove past GC and arrived at Zion with high expecations. It was a good decision. We took the park shuttle bus and stopped through the spots to look around. We did a 45-min trek (easy walk) to arrive at river. Great place, magnificent views. Good for a family day out.

This park is so hard to describe - the rock formations are breathtaking - make sure you make the trip through the tunnel at the East entrance to the park!

Laura was the best ever guide and very knowledgeable of the area.Quite enjoyable and informational, Crybaby Hill is a hoot!

On a scale of 1-10 it was a 10+ !!! We had guides and equipment for two hiking adventures. The guides were knowledgable and helpful and super instructors.

Rented two dry pants packages from them to hike the Narrows in October. The river shoes were old and worn, the neoprene socks smelled like they had never been deodorized, and both sets of dry pants leaked a lot. No keeping dry on this hike. When I returned the rental gear and let them know that both dry pants leaked the answer was, "that's how it is". Not my idea of customer service. Do yourself a favor, bring an old pair of tennis shoes and hike the Narrows in shorts, even in October. You'll be fine, save money, and match most of the other hikers. I wish I had known this ahead of time.

First trip to Zion and The Narrows, we had no idea what we REALLY needed. DEAN took great care of us, gave us a fair price, less than all the others we had called, and showed up ON TIME at the flagpole. We hiked in the fall, so we weren't sure how cold the water would be. We rented wetsuits which we never used and wetsuit jackets -- that we did use at the very end, after deciding to go for a swim. These guys and gals are the best!

We loved Zion Rock & Mountain Guides. We used them for a full day of canyoneering and also for a sunset jeep tour. Jack was our guide for both. He was incredibly knowledgeable about canyoneering and also about the area. We felt safe throughout both. The canyoneering experience was one of the best parts of our trip - neither of us had much experience repelling, but Jack taught us what we needed to know and coached us through 7 fun repels. From making reservations online, communicating with people in the store about what to bring, and the actual trips - we never had a negative experience!

Let me start by saying that my husband and I are very fit and have climbing experience, but we were not familiar with Zion National Park. If you are confining your activities to things inside the Park, understand that there is no technical guiding allowed inside the Park, i.e., everything inside the Park doesn't really need a guide to accomplish. If you're wanting to get off the beaten path and experience a little more physically challenging adventure, ZRMG is the way to go. Canyoneering is a blast! Our guide assessed our skills and away we went. We were pushed but never felt unsafe, and at the end, we had a soaring sense of accomplishment. The challenges were both physical and mental, but with the our guide's knowledge and encouragement, we conquered some pretty crazy stuff in Water Canyon. What an amazing day! Mountain biking is not something with which we had experience. This was the most hazardous and least enjoyable part of our weekend package, but it was still fun. We did the Jem trail in the morning and went to Gooseberry for the afternoon. We were in over our heads at Gooseberry. ZRMG is flexible so you don't have to do any certain activities--if you don't want to try mountain biking and would rather do more canyoneering then that's what you do. Another note, I thought we'd be bundled with other people for our package. Nope. Each group that signs up is assigned a guide so it's a very individualized and customized experience.Climbing was mixed with canyoneering. We only did one multipitch climb, and it wasn't very long. We did some top roping that was fun, and once again our guide was excellent. This was done at Lamb's Knoll, and the canyoneering was at Yankee Doodle Canyon. Very fun and rewarding. The Best Western is where we were booked. It's just down the road from ZRMG and a very short distance from the Park entrance. Very convenient and breakfast is included there. Other meals are left to the customer's preferences. We elected to pack our lunches from the local grocery store because we were there for the adventure rather than the food and didn't want to be tied to an agenda that included traveling back into town to eat at a restaurant. We chose where we wanted to eat dinner and were reimbursed for the meals. The restaurant choices are varied in Springdale, and we liked everything well enough. Oscar's was the best meal though. In closing, I will say that our guide made the experience unforgettable. He was extremely knowledgable about the surrounding area and its history as well as contemporary issues. ZRMG tends to hire local people rather than bringing in guides from outside of the area. I don't know if this was the difference or whether it was just his personality and technical expertise in addition to his background as an experienced native of the area, but we absolutely loved our Weekend Warrior Package and would highly recommend it to those seeking adventure that is truly out of the ordinary. I can't say enough good things about our guide, Jack. HE WAS THE BEST! If you can request him, I strongly suggest that you do just that. You won't be sorry. He's very laid back but attentive at the same time. His instructions and tips are spot on, and he'll help you, but also give you plenty of opportunities to overcome the challenges on your own so that you are tired and sore at the end of the day but extremely proud and satisfied, too.
