I have made two trips now to Zion National Park with a third planned in July. have stopped by to see David on both trips and will see him again on the next one. I have a wall in my home of his work beautifully framed by him. It is all places that my family and I have hiked in the Park. It is a really cool thing to be able to look up at a wall that has so many memories along with beautiful pictures. David is always coming up with new pictures or a different way to see an old one. He is also just an awesome guy to talk to and well informed with the area. I am hoping to add to my wall on this next trip. His large pictures are pretty pricey but once you realize how much the frames actually cost it is not that bad. The Burlwood frams are my favorite frames.
We stopped at David West's gallery at the urging of friends and were not disappointed. His photography is beauiful and truly captures the many moods of Zion Canyon National Park. One can tell that Mr. West loves both his work and its subjects. The young man who operates the gallery was pleasant, well-informed, and very helpful. He is also a first-class framer. If you want a way to remember this majestic park, you'll find it at this gallery. Moreover, the gallery offers limited edition originals, calendars, post cards and prints, so there is something for every budget. The pottery was terrific as well.
The David J West Gallery is definitely worth a visit. Paintings, photography and pottery - original and not just the same old stuff. With Thanksgiving coming up my wife was looking for serving bowls and plates. With the help of David's staff, we were able to put together a grouping of four pieces that we purchased on Tuesday, 11/18/14. When we got home to Texas on Sunday, 11/23, the shipment had already arrived - and everything was in perfect condition! Charlie Brown was out with David, so we didn't get the pleasure of meeting either. But our family and friends will be as thankful as we are this Thanksgiving for the extra blessing that the David J West Gallery has brought to our table.
David's photographs are amazing, and he was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommend a trip to his gallery and a few purchases, too.
David's work is amazing and captures the soul of anything he aims his camera at!! The studio is friendly and awe inspiring. David's work is amazing and should be seen by all who travel to Zion. He has captured the soul the essence of Zion with his camera and I am so grateful!!! David is so genuinely friendly!! Every visitor should experience this studio and take home a piece of his great work...love to C Brown "Zion Dog" See you next year.
This is one place not to be missed when you are in Springdale Utah visiting Zion NP. I'm not at all the shopping type...I do enjoy walking through unique galleries to see nice art and photography. What is great about this place is that you not only see phenomenal photography and pottery but you will more than likely get a chance to talk at length with the actual photographer (You may, if you're lucky, meet the family dog Charlie too). I've been through many "celebrity" galleries, they have some great shots...though often it does not seem to capture the essence of the place and you will likely never meet the photographer, just a salesperson. David's place is great in that he truly captures the places he is photographing...and the shots are exceptional. They also sell some unique pottery (we picked up several pieces). my wife is a photographer, so its says something that we picked up a print from David. If you're in Springdale make it a point to stop by, browse and chat with David and the staff...well worth your time...make sure to see his shot of Zion at night after a snowfall called "Once Upon a Time)... a truly mesmerizing shot!
David's work is terrific and he is professional and genuine. The pottery is great too. All reasonably priced.
We have stopped by twice to purchase photos from the gallery during trips to Springdale. Both times David was manning the gallery, we were impressed by how humble and easy to work with. Fabulous experience compared to other galleries we have shopped. Love the pieces we purchased!
Agree with the other reviews that this is the gallery in S.dale. We loved his work but bought some unique pottery he brings in from an artist from PN.....unique and priced right.
We were very lucky on our visit. David was working in the gallery. He was very nice and polite to everyone coming in. Gave us wonderful tips for our hiking the next day. The photography is well displayed and lit. Along with the photography is some unique pottery pieces. We purchased both pottery and artwork.
Not only is the staff super friendly, but the photo's are spectacular and displayed in many amazing different ways. He surely will become great in time, and it would seem that a collector couldn't go wrong here. We truly enjoyed his perspectives, though admittedly mickey mouse could take a great picture in Zion!
This is best gallery in Springdale by far; David and the staff are always friendly and helpful. David is a wonderful photographer and the artwork in his gallery is reasonably priced. The gallery not only carries Davids artwork but also pottery by Bill Campbell at a GREAT price. Don't miss this gallery.
This is a small gallery with some great photos from David. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. There are some fantastic photos of Zion and nearby National parts. The prices are good especially if you compare to the other big gallery in town. They also sell some photography equipment and accessories for serious photographers like Lee filters.
My husband and I stopped in the gallery because we stayed at La Quinta where they have David J. West's photos displayed on the walls of the lobby and in the guest rooms and we fell in love with them. They are simply stunning. We walked in about 15 minutes before they closed but Mitch was so accommodating and friendly he let us stay after hours. Because he chose to do this we decided to buy the picture we liked on the spot. Normally we would have given it a day to think about it but because Mitch was off the next few days we wanted to be sure he received the commission. We went back the next day and met M.J. and decided to take home a couple more photos.
We met David when we stopped by the gallery. He was very nice, and even signed the calendar we bought. He has some incredible work on display.
