I played this course for the first time last week. Luckily I played with a couple guys who has been there before as some of the yardages would otherwise be difficult to judge. Friendly pro shop and was a fun day.
My wife and I very much enjoyed playing this course. While staying in Mesquite we drove to St. George for all of our golf outings. We drove by this course to check it out then elected to play. It's very reasonably priced and very well managed. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The course has an obvious country club feel and it's surrounded by beautiful homes of varying architecture. Nice pro shop but could use a good grill for lunch after golf. Would I play it again? Absolutely.
We played the course three times during our week in St. George playing various combinations of the 27 holes. This is a municipal course and is obviously suffering somewhat from tight budgets and light play. Some of the fairways had standing water from leaking underground equipment, greens were inconsistent with some trimmed and others not. No on course beverage and snack service although the club house had a small kitchen staffed by one employee... who was both cook and server. Yikes! Pro shop had a friendly chap in charge but again only one employee. Grounds crews cutting the fairways were not trained to shut down the equipment while we were over the ball... Yikes again!Wouldn't put it on our list again. We chose this course and advance booked based on a 4 star rating by a popular golf magazine... obviously the magazine hasn't had anybody at the course for recently.
The greens and fairways were in good shape as of 8.24.14. The fairways are fairly wide and the greens are pretty big. My foursome enjoyed playing here to start off our golfing vacation. We played early in the morning and finished before lunch. A couple of negative comments; the grill was closed during our round and there was a noticeable lack of course maintenance. For example, messy sand traps, weeds growing around the traps. I would really rate this as 3.5 stars course, but as noted above, with a little more effort this could be a really nice course.
Great layout, very scenic and reasonably priced, there's so much great golf, open to public play in the St. George area, it's hard to single out a favorite, but here are a few options:http://forelinksters.com/course/location/32779/state/Utah/city/Saint+George
This is the best city course st george has to offer, and it is really nice, they have a lot of interesting holes. Reed the pro is very nice, my favorite city course in St. George.
nice fairways, easy greens, not expensive, easy to get to, not to busy, didn't over book the foursomes
The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were able to play as a twosome and in less than 4 hours which made us happy. The course is fun and challenging (we are 12 handicappers) and it was in very good shape.
I like the fact that this course has 27 holes. It makes getting a Tee Time or just showing up and trying to get out on the course easy. Everytime I've played this course the pace of play has been great. The course itself is ok. It does offer variety in the holes....unlike come city courses without much variety in the design of the holes. And the course isn't very expensive. So, overall it's a good value and enjoyable. There are better courses in St. George, but for the price Sunbrook is a good value.
Great, no excellent food. The chief came to your table to see how we were doing, Not a large place but super clean and the views are to die for.
Played one round on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Course was not busy so the speed of play was under 4 hours. Challenging and interesting course.
What an interesting golf course. Go online to Ezlinks and play it for less than $40 too. It's a blast and great treatment by the front desk people make it even better.
Lousy condition compared to other courses in the St. George area. Offers 27 holes, should concentrate on 18 holes and maybe the golfing experience would reach average.
This is the second course we've played in St George. This one was a little more plain Jane than the one we played in June. There were hills but no cliffs or valleys. The course was being re-seeded and carts we kept to the cart path, which I find annoying. Employees were friendly. Check with the course for tee times and to find out when prices are lowest. Most of the holes were surrounded by homes and condos.
36 holes. It is a good track with some challenging holes. Pretty good views of the city, but nothing like some of the courses on the cliffs.Worth playing if you have an extra day or afternoon.
