The locals told us we must not miss out on eating at the diner, although it was quaint, the food was not good, dry small burger with iceburg lettuce and a small bag of chips, the older waitress was quite cranky. The place was not very clean either. I would not go back.
You step back in time when you enter this place. I learned it opened in 1911 which is before my home state (AZ) became a state! We ate at the soda fountain and it was great. Perfectly cooked eggs over medium, country sausage and the crispness toast. First time I was ever asked if I wanted jelly with my toast. I said yes and the jelly came on the plate with the rest of the food! And best of all, it was reasonably priced. Two of us ate for under $10 which included coffee and juice! People were full of that famous southern hospitality!
Bible burger was really good. Chocolate shake was too chocolatey for me. Wife's vanilla shake was very good.
A 103 year old drugstore, with a soda fountain counter, intimate booths, over the counter drugs and a pharmacy. We got our flu shots here. And I found Smith Brothers cough drops, original black AND cherry. The display case at the back will surely stir memories for you!
The milkshakes are good, lots of old memorabilia. Still an actual pharmacy if you need anything. They also serve lunch.
It's a neat little place. We ate lunch here which was just okay but very enjoyable because of the atmosphere. My husband did think it was strange that an old fashioned soda fountain didn't have soda from the tap, you had to get a bottle from the fridge.
Great spot. Has a real soda fountain with real food and soft drinks. Parking downtown is a little tight but it is ok.
I went to Tinsley-Bible Drug store a few times many yrs ago when in high school. I have wanted to go back for some time but just had not taken the time to go. Finally I took my daughter and grandson there for lunch and an ice cream. I got the famous Bible Burger which was very big and delicious. All of us liked our food and the down home feel. This is a take me back in time place that everyone should visit at least once.
This place will take you back in time. It is in the town square and just a neat setting. Great food. Make sure to add this place to your trip for lunch.
Went there and had a great hamburger with the best shake ever after a recommendation from the campground we were staying. Will make sure to return again
Every town should have a soda fountain/pharmacy like this. The food was perfect for our lunch and my root beer float was great. It was also very reasonable.
Old fashioned soda fountain, and a lot of things you don't see anymore in a drug store. Had antiques for sale and gifts
Talk about friendly people! You have to see this place! We visited one afternoon and then had lunch there the next day. Just plain cool!
Not so much a soda fountain, like the advertising leads you to believe, but more a real working pharmacy. That said it does have a really small old-time soda fountain area.
I have mixed feelings about this place. My family got hamburgers and Chocolate shakes and everyone enjoyed it. I on the other hand thought the milkshake was to water downed and the burger was dry. The place is very small and expect to wait for a table if you have four people. The whole place is plead run down and definitely is dirty. The cook used her bare hands to pat out the meat then walked to other parts and touched things then went back to the meat. It was gross. I had high hopes that this place would have been as good as others experienced.
