I love Warriors! I've gone there since I was a child. I love walking around duck island. There are tennis courts, volleyball, a beach area, etc. The new playground his HUGE and wonderful! Beautiful park. They also have a marina with food, and a boat ramp. There are also soccer fields here as well.
A very nice park. Duck Island is nice, with a good walking trail. Lots of people do water sports there also.
I have visited the campground as a guest severe rail times, and have always found it to be clean and pleasant. Duck island is a fun place to walk or jog. It can be busy because of its popularity in the area, but there is plenty of room for everyone. The lake is beautiful year round.
This park has everything from camping to frisbee golf courses. Park is always clean and has an awesome playground for younger children. Safe walking trails and lots of shelters for gatherings. Fishing is allowed with license and pool is open through the summer months.
This park is free, there lots to do paddle boats, fish, picnics, but it get very crowded , lots of duck which means lots of pupp, no swimming is allowed , also has boat ramp,
Warrior's Path Golf Course at at Warrior's Path State Park. It is a very cost effective chance to golf on a scenic course. There are not a lot of hazards and has wide fairways so you shouldn't lose many golf balls.
We love going to Warriors Path State Park. My kids love going to the playground. My husband loves the golf course. And my parents and brother are avid fisher's. They love getting out on the lake fishing and just hanging around!
I am a first time boat owner and growing up in northeast tennessee I have visited this state park enough to know the lake is not as busy as the majority of lakes in this area. That was the reason for me renting a slip at the marina. The young men working the dock were extremely mature for their age. They were also very willing to assist with carrying gear to my boat, which was the furthest from the gate. The ladies working the marina were extremely friendly. I would spend a lot of time shooting the breeze with them about copperheads, fishing, and many other subjects. Then I tried the food and was very impressed. It was a good price with a great burger.Overall I loved the experience I had at the park and will be renting a slip next spring.Damn the buzzards.
I liked the parking area by the Duck Walk. Not a big fan of the boat docks but that is just a preference.
We stayed here based on a lot of positive reviews. We were disappointed in the overall state of the campground and facilities. Campground is really tight with cars and vehicles extending into the roadways. Apparently, there are no enforced rules about numbers of cars at a site. The single restroom/shower facility was positively digusting. I'm sure many prisons have better shower facilites. Fixtures were ancient and hot water was nonexistant during peak times. Perhaps our biggest disappointment was the fact that the swimming pool was already closed for the season on one of the busiest ( and hottest) day of the year. Dump station was barely navigable on departure day due to poor layout of dead-end road. On the plus side, the day use facility across the lake seemed nice and had a boat dock and playground. Too bad the water is bacterialogically unsafe for swimming. Tennessee has some really nice state parks; this is not one of them.
Our group consisted of grandparents, my husband and I and our two kids, 2.5 and 10 months. We loved the experience, but the campground was a little lacking. The site was dirty when we arrived. The bathrooms are very small, and there are three showers for each gender for the whole campground. The Rangers were wonderful, offering interesting activities, and help when a turtle caught on a fishing line needed to be freed. Don't miss the Lake Hollow trail hike, best at sunset, (has poison ivy, so keep a lookout) or the boundless playground if you have kids of any age. Also, most sites are smaller and up on a ridge, so we stretched a rope between trees to keep the little ones from adventuring too far in the wrong direction. Picnic tables are permanent and cannot be moved. The pool was very nice, but charged a fee, reduced to half price for campers.
Our family had a great time at Warriors Path State Park! From the boundless playground to the paddle boats, to feeding the ducks and walking the trail, there is more to do than we could fit into one day. We'll be back to visit the pool, ride the horses and go camping!
The three areas I like to quickly go to for a walk or a run around Kingsport are the riverside area near the Netherland Inn, the greenbelt area near Olive Garden and Warriors' Path State Park. The latter probably being the quieter option and nice to watch people fishing or renting a rowing boat. Worth the drive over to either take a leisurely stroll or a run.
The park area is great , but dont waste your money on camping , the bathrooms are very dirty and dated , campsites are poorly maintained , they seem to to spend there money on the golf course and do nothing for the campground.
The sights are nothing like they look like on the website. They are super small and no privacy. They were also dirty with trash and cigarette butts everywhere.
