We really are very fortunate to have a State Park in our Town. Most people would have to drive a few hours to get to see a place like David Crockett State Park. Growing up with it were always taking it for granted. As a young man I can remember all the family reunions, get together . Climbing all the trails. The playground what fun. Mom's hollering be sure to change to your oldest tennis shoes before going to the falls to wade the creek.I know I always listen to my mom. That was the simpler time's before cell phones and Internet, Facebook, Twitter. We have to many electronic devices today. Take a word of advice for an old man. UNPLUG THOSE DE VICES GO FOR A WALK IN OUR DAVID CROCKETT STATE PARK THANK YOU GOD BLESS

This is a very beautiful natural park, with walking trails, separate camping area, nice modern cabins on the lake. There is fishing, boating and nature abounds. Most days you can see several deer along the roadway or trails. You can see an old grist mill, and some days the rangers hold nature shows. There is also a restaurant that opens seasonally with good home cooking. It's a wonderful place to visit for a few hours or a few days. I highly recommend it.

The park is located on the west side of the city, just a few miles from down town. The park is clean and we'll maintained. The lodge has very good food and the dining area is both clean and spacious . The staff is all ways friendly and dining here is a pleasure. The park has many deer, birds, and other wild life. There are ducks and geese on the lake and the fishing is good. It is very relaxing to escape city life and enjoy nature in the park.

We did a 2 night camping trip with the extended family. We used campground number 1. It is on a rock creek which was great for the kids but I think #2 is more modern and accessible for bigger RVs. Nice state park. The kids had a good time. Watch out for the red light cameras if you go into town for supplies. Lawrenceburg isn't a big town but it took me over an hour to get to Walmart and back when I forgot my extension cord for my camper. This reminds me of a gripe. When camping at campground #1, the connections are OBSCENELY far from the parking for your RV. Bring a long hose and an extension cord.

We have camped at this State Park for years and also stayed in their new cabins. It's a beautiful state park with very friendly park hosts and rangers.

This is one of best state parks in TN. Just driving through the park is like a nature preserve white tail deer, wild turkey, ducks, geese, and birds of all kinds. The Crockett Mill restaurant is a great place to eat they have a breakfast buffet on weekends and serve a dinner buffet also. I have not had a chance to enjoy the camp sites but they look good.

Can't wait to move to Ethridge, shop with the Amish, and walk my dog in the park here! Absolutely gorgeous! And people are wonderful, not at all Tea Party-like!

First camping trip in years & it was a success! There were a few obstacles, though. We went on a Friday evening after work. The park is about a 45 minute drive from our home. According to website, someone was supposed to be there until 7. Just to be safe, I called before we set out at 5:30ish, & the girl was already leaving. She said there were plenty of sites, just let the host know we were there, pick a site, & come pay first thing the next morning. The problem with that is they take bookings online. We were staying 2 nights, and someone booked our campsite for Saturday night! So, we had to move ALL of our stuff. The exact same thing happened to the couple in the site next to us. The worst thing about it is neither of the campers showed up, so we moved for nothing. The good thing was, we didn't have to move far, and my husband handled it like a pro. The park itself is so pretty. The primitive sites overlook Shoals Creek. It's a bit of a trek to the bath house, but we discovered a shortcut through a field to another bathroom that was much closer. But, it was just a bathroom... No showers, & it closed at 10 or so. Overall, a really good trip, & I would go back. My advice would be book online! That way, you KNOW you have your site for the whole trip.

A very nice and clean park! Love to see the animals roaming. Good photo opportunities. There are cabins available to rent. The restaurant is a smorgasboard. Clean and neat with nice views.

We stayed in campground 1 in E1. It was a little tight but we backed in our 32 ft camper. The host was very nice and helpful. Th sights to camp on are pretty tight and be prepared to do some leveling. The campground had bathrooms that were a bit dated but other than that I have no complaints! The creek was close to our campsite and the kids had room to ride bikes and play. The swimming pool is 2 miles away but not very crowded and has several lifeguards. Bring your own firewood. The wildlife in the area is nice. We brought a few friends and family and all had an overall wonderful time and we will be back!

This was one of our worst camping experiences. Started great, we got to site 8 on the primitive camping on our first day and everything was great. Woke up the next day to explore. Went to see the little water fall early and it was really nice. Got to the pool and it was closed. Since July fourth is Friday and it's supposed to be open on holiday weeks we thought we would go swimming. Part of the reason we picked this park. Nope it was closed. Went to the lake to rent a boat and all they have is two seat peddle boats and ten foot flat bottoms. Not family friendly since you can't bring your own rather upset about that too. Then when we get back to our campsite, to get in the creek, it's full of people. Also disappointing since the creek in front of their camper was empty. Then to find out these people where acquainted with the campsite host, we packed up and left. Horrible!!

The campsite was nice, but as we walked around some of the sites needed some fixing. The restaurant food was excellent

My boyfriend and I visited the park Jun 13-15. We were tent camping in campground 1. We were on site 24 along Shoal Creek, which I definitely recommend. It was nice sitting by the creek and just relaxing. All of the employees working the park were really nice. All the sites were clean. Some of the sites were more ideal for RVs or Campers while some were better for tent camping. Luckily the website for the park has pictures of each site so you can see where you will be beforehand. Our site was definitely more ideal for tent camping. There was a concrete parking park that could have accommodated a small pop up camper, but probably nothing more. One thing I liked about the park was that there weren't street lights all over the park. I have been at some campgrounds that had lights everywhere. This one had one light right by the dump station. So at night it was plenty dark which made it even easier to relax at night. Be sure to bring a flashlight in case you need to get up to go to the restroom at night. I needed one to walk from our site. One thing that we liked about the park were the hiking trails. We hiked along the Shoal creek trail and the Trail of Tears hiking trail. The Shoal creek trail followed Shoal Creek and you eventually ended at Crockett falls which was nice. A few points were a bit strenuous for those that don't hike often (such as my boyfriend and I) and almost to the end there is a very steep hill, just keep this in mind, The creek is pretty shallow so wading was nice since it was pretty warm that weekend. The Trail of Tears walking trail was an easy trail as far as terrain. The only downfall is that it is right along the road that goes through the park so as you are walking, there are vehicles driving by the whole time. Not quite as peaceful as the Shoal Creek trail. But it was pretty neat because there were segments of the trail that was part of the original Trail of Tears and along the trail there were little information plaques about it. One downside about the campsite were the restrooms. They weren't the cleanest, so I definitely recommending wearing shoes when going to the restroom or using the showers. Overall, the visit was very nice and we have every intention of making more trips to this state park.

Nice Saturday lunch buffet, but wished they offered more meats than just chicken cooked in a couple of different ways

We called before our arrival to make reservations, but were assured they had plenty of spots. They DID, but we didn't receive the gate code & couldn't reach the office #.15 min, someone exited & we were able to pull in. Campsites are nice & have both a firepit & stone grill. The camper spot was extremely slanted & narrow. We had a difficult time balancing out our camper. The David Crocket museum is teeny, but informative. We're a nerdy family with 4 boys ages 11-6 yrs, so we stayed & watched the film which was really good. We did paddle boat rentals & had a great time at the pool! The restaurant was $9 per person for a lunch buffet! The buffet looked rather small & we stood at the hostess stand for 10 min & were never helped. We ended up leaving & going to Ricks BBQ.Conclusion: Okay, but there are much better state parks that TN has to offer!!!
