I was just in awe of this park, I did the trail in reverse because I was anxious to see the ruins of the old mills. At my first stop was a water fall, and I was saying to myself, this is cool. Then I contiuned on and came across another waterfall, then another, I can't even remember how many I ended up seeing. They were all amazing and definitely a park I would return to. Most areas are easy enough for those with kids too. Paths are clear, and not many rocks or roots. Also, there are about 12 markers along the trail with explanations or historical info worth reading. If you enjoy parks, this is a must see.....also try Great Stone Door and Greeter Falls, near Beersheba Springs. Cumberland Gap parks will not disappoint.

We made a stop here with our group that had travelled for 3-4 hours - we had a quick lunch in the picnic area, briefly visited the "museum", and then hikes some trails before moving on to our final destination for the night. It was a nice stopping point, good proximity to the interstate, clean, nice to stretch our legs. I found the staff less than helpful but we brought our own maps with us. The trails are not really welll marked but we fumbled through them and managed to get back to our starting point. The trails were quite muddy the day we went but the scenery was nice. We would stop again but seems that we mostly saw everything during our 2 hours there.

This park is great for camping, hiking, and relaxing. This prehistoric area is well worth a visit. We live nearby and visit often,

It's a small park comparing to a lot of state parks but it is very beautiful and well worth going to. The downside is a lot of the things in this park are not marked as well as they could be but if you make the effort to explore a little bit you will gain the gift of beauty. It is a very beautiful

Right in the center of Manchester there's a state park with small museum. The park has hookups for RVs or just tent camping. Restrooms are available. Several trails can occupy a long afternoon with plenty of space for a picnic.

Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant! The park is beautiful, and full of active critters! The campground is well laid out and very serene....the only slight negative (and very very slight) is that the campsites are kind of narrow which could make it a challenge for larger rigs. But don't let that discourage you in any way...it is worth the couple extra setup/positioning minutes!

Very good nature trails and beautiful scenery. Pets are allowed on leashes and there is a wonderful campsite.

This state park consist of two areas; the campground and the archaeological site. It is easily accessible form I-24 at Manchester, TN. A 10 minute drive off the interstate will have you at the park. You can spend 20 minutes going through the museum and briefly seeing part of the archaeological area or spend several hours walking the paths.ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE: This part consist of a small museum that give a brief but sufficient history of the area and the role of the 50 acre rock walled area used by native americans as a trading post. There is a very nice level 1 1/2 mile trail that circles the area and gives great views of the two rivers that are on either side of the area with many nice waterfalls. Side trails, that are steeper, going down to the rivers and waterfalls. There is little to see of the ancient wall that surrounded the area, but the loop trail is a very pleasant walk in the woods.CAMPGROUND: All of the sites in the campground are paved and level with 30 amp service and water only. The restrooms are modern and very clean. A beautiful place in the fall. The one drawback to this campground is the bridge that you cross to get to it. It is a one way bridge that is amply wide (11 ft.) and high (13' 9") for bigger rigs, BUT the weight limit is 10T which limits all but smaller rigs (see photos). If your rig meets these limitations, then I highly recommend this campground. The rate is about $25 per night and half that for seniors and vets.

Interesting and has a nice circular walk along a beautiful river. It also has a small museum about the area's history.

Not much to see as far as the museum part goes. The trails are not hard, but also aren't marked clearly, and many have large tree roots running through them, so you have to spend a lot of your hike looking down, so you don't trip.

This is a nice Tennessee state park with a great museum of indian artifacts. You can take a walking tour of the old defense barricade of earthworks and rock that was built along the little duck and duck rivers. There are beautiful waterfalls and cascades to view as well as plenty of wildlife. They also have an excellent fully shaded campground with hot showers, fire rings, picnic tables and grills. There is also a nice 9 hole golf course on site. Overall a great state park to visit

This was my 2nd time to this wonderful park. Only stayed one night, but we had a chance to roam around the museum and walk around the main loop. Simply amazing to think of the scope of work done by hand to build the "wall". We did pick a site that was a little tight for our RV, So you may want to pay attention when you book your stay. Other than that, it's a well maintained and was nice and quiet while we were there. I would've loved to have been able to spend a couple more days just relaxing here!

My family visited Short Springs Natural Area in Tullahoma, TN. It was overcast when we began and the heavy rain soon followed but we really enjoyed ourselves today. The decent to Machine Falls is rather steep and the rain made it a bit slippery but all was worth it when we made it to the the waterfall. It was beautiful. Highly recommend.

I was in Manchester doing press coverage for Bonnaroo festival. After a nasty mixup by the staff at the festival, I got trapped in the lowest of lows - Bonnaroo general camping. Due to my late arrival, I survived one sleepless night there before immediately leaving. Manchester's hotels were booked up at this point, so I hit Google in search of a state park. Tada! I'm just glad it was so close. All of the campsites are shaded and well enough spaced out so neighbors shouldn't bother each other. The trees were a lifesaver in the June heat, and my tent never got above 75 degrees despite the horror stories coming back from general camping at the festival about people sleeping under cars to evade the heat. The park rangers at check in were very nice, I enjoyed chatting with them. The last day, I took a hike to see the stone fort, and visited the gift shop. Well maintained. The waterfall along the hiking trail was very pretty, though extremely hard to get down to a good viewpoint.
