Being from DC, we have been fortunate enough to experience quite a few vineyards, and even stopped here just before attending a wedding in TN. On the way, we experienced over 10 different vineyards and Good Water was our favorite out of ALL of them. The wine they offered, along with fantastic grape juice was literally perfect in every way. We were very fortunate they let us experience the hard work they been doing and let us come by before they were officially up and running. I can't wait to become a case club member with them, and look forward to a future case shipment to the nations capital. :)
Starting out with a scenic drive to an unexpected vineyard. Quite impressive in many levels. This quaint small vinery is well nested in a beautiful setting. This winery might be small in size but not in production. I was pleasantly surprised by their selection. For a small winery that has only been opened 3 months, the owners have outdone themselves. The tasting room might be small in size but not in what they have to offer. The owners are well versed in wine and the production and take pride in their operation. They are personable and very friendly. Besides the distinctive wines they also offer other services. They have a wine food paring tour wich includes a tour of the vineyard. I will definitely be back with family and friends for this. Don't miss the Holloween " Freak in the Vineyards" October 31st. Great event for kids as well as adults. Thank you! Angie
Great Winery! The wine is absolutely wonderful! It is great place to visit with beautiful scenery. I have visited often since the opening. I will continue to make the short drive out to Goodwater Vineyards for the best wine!!
Friday Night July 18,2014 We visited the Grand Opening of Gene and Laura Poland's and Dr. Mike Hood's new Vineyard and Store. We enjoyed a tour of the processing plant, enjoyed music and, of course, tasted the various wines they have harvested. We tried the Noble Muscadine Red, Noble Muscadine White, the Seyval Blanc (dry white) and the Corot Noir (dry red). My fav is the Noble Muscadine Red. Diane loved the Seyval Blanc because she prefers a dry wine, and it is similar to a New Zealand white that she enjoys. We thought the prices were very reasonable. Gene and Laura Poland are a very personable young couple with 3 boys and 1 girl who live on the vineyard and contribute 100% of their efforts into growing the best vines available to this area. They enjoy talking to their patrons and showing the impressive equipment that they have gathered from all over the world to finally come to this grand opening. I have heard rumors that an Iced Wine may be coming in the future. AND a Less Sweet muscadine process has been perfected and will be available in the next several weeks for purchase. This will be available in red and white with a much dryer taste. This vineyard may be googled or the address may be put in your Garmin 1861 Goodwater Road, Bybee, TN. It is a very short drive from I-81 and well worth a tasting !
