Great place to stop and taste some great moonshine!! They have 7 you can taste. The guys passing it out love it when the crowd gets loud, the louder you are the heavier the pours :) We had Zack as our bartender and he was great!!!

Sugarlands Moonshine is the best moonshine in the Smokies. James was our taste leader, and he was great! He made it fun and interesting.

While walking on the strip, one of our friends mentioned that he wanted to go inside Sugarlands. We've been going to this area for years, and had never noticed or gone inside this store. We aren't drinkers, but thought we'd go ahead and check it out with our friends. The atmosphere animated and everyone appeared happy. The workers greeted us and informed us that we could visit the right hand side of the store behind a glass wall, where they were giving a class/talk on how they make moonshine. Behind the wall in a huge vat was a ton of grain. It was pretty neat to see some of the process of how moonshine is made. One of the people in our party went inside to hear the entire talk, the rest of us watched from outside the window. Eventually we noticed people congregating around an oval shaped wooden counter. As we walked over to see what was so important, one of the workers asked us if we wanted to participate in a moonshine tasting. None of us had ever done it, so we all agreed to participate. One of the workers migrated to the center of the oval and began passing out plastic cups that were the same size as a church communion cup. He explained that he would be allowing us to sample 6 (or maybe it was 7) moonshine flavors and that all he asked was that we all waited to drink at the same time, after we had all been served, and that we provided his name at the register if we decided to buy later. He told a few short jokes and gave some one liners while pouring. It was fun tasting the moonshine and being able to stop and take a moment to discuss the flavors with the worker and those standing around us sampling as well. It was probably around 15 to 20 of us sampling together.The moonshine flavors were awesome! The first two were more like strong gin or vodka. They were clear with no flavor; just burn. I didn't even finish my sample cups of the first two. The remaining flavors were delicious. My favorites were the sweet tea, butterscotch, and apple pie. All tasted exactly as their names imply. The flavors had various layers, but for me, they all really tasted like their names. My husband and one of our friends really liked the blackberry, which tasted like medicine to me. The lemonade flavor was also pretty good. We ended up buying a case for a friend back home, who drinks moonshine. We purchased the Mark Rogers peach flavor. Our friend has the same surname, so we thought he'd get a kick out of that, and also enjoy the moonshine. They were running a special. If you purchase one case, you got a portion off your second case. We all left feeling pretty good. I'm not sure if it was because of the moonshine or just how fun of an atmosphere and experience we'd just had. The workers were informative, fun, laid back and made you feel at home. Also you are not served so much moonshine to were you wouldn't be able to drive or function afterward. The cups are tiny. We plan to go back next time we visit. Be prepared to show your i.d. if you decide to go to Sugarlands. They check i.d.s and also stamp your hand, so that any other worker that sees you will know that you are legal.

Wonderful experience and top-notch shine. This was my wife's first time to have any kind of moonshine and she fell in love with it. Brandon was an amazing tour guide! I highly recommend this place!

We enjoyed it and the bartender was great. They have a great atmosphere going. If you stop by here it will be totally worth your time

Great staff & even better moonshine. We were able to do the tour to see how and where all the shine was made. Matt, the tour guide, was awesome.

Had a great time. Brandon was an awesome host! Very knowledgeable about the products. The variety of different flavors made it difficult to choose just one. Thanks for a great time.

We walked by a few times before just saying "Let's stop in and see what it is..." Basically, step up to a bar and try a bunch of small samples of flavored (and not flavored) moonshine. It was a blast - Brandon was the best.Stop in, try it out - it's easy to skip one if it doesn't sound good, but we were REALLY pleasantly surprised!

This is a great place to sample moonshine. The prices are reasonable and the staff is knowledgable about the products there. They give tours of the distillery at different times during the day just stop in and ask. They also do samples.. Don't forget your ID.. They check. So stop in and see the people here at Sugarlands.
