What a beautiful place! The park is spectacular & the falls- breathtaking!! This place is definately a must see in middle Tennessee. A good kept secret as far as state parks. Plan your next weekend getaway for Fall Creek Falls State Park. You will not be disappointed!
The heights are absolutely breathtaking! The swinging bridges were so much fun and a new experience for us! The trails were so great and it is the perfect place to go and get your mind off of anything. The sound of the Falls roaring and the quiet of the trails was just incredible.
The waterfalls are spectacular this time of year. Lots of volume of water - more awesome than summer - although summer is super too
And the hiking areas! Very friendly staff! Highly recommended! Good for beginners and advance people. Long trails! Make sure you bring water!
I love this wonderful Beautiful place I really enjoy camping there and all that it has to offer. The workers are the park are so nice and sweet!!! Please visit if you haven't!!!
beautiful park, very good restaurant, would love to stay at the inn, easy to locate and within 20-30- minute of Pikeville and Dunlap, TN
This park has everything. Nice, clean camp sites. Clean bathrooms and showers with plenty of hot water. Campground was quiet and the sounds of nature were so peaceful at night. George Hole is the perfect swimming hole within the park that has great cliffs to jump off, a suspended bridge, and overall the perfect place to cool off. Deer wandered the park and were fun to watch. General store and outfitter shop are convenient and fun to explore.Tons of great trails to explore. Also had a swimming pool, tennis courts, and more. And of course, there is the falls itself. Beautiful. This place has it all and the genuine kindness of the Tennessee people. We will go back.
There is no official entrance gate to the park nor is there an entrance fee. We were only visiting for a day so we went to the nature center first. It seemed very dated and the overall facility doesn't seem to be very well maintained. The bathrooms next the parking lot are some of the worst I have ever been in. Unfortunately, they only got worse as the day went on; which I assume was because people were changing in and out of wet clothes. We walked on the trail to Fall Creek Falls. The suspension bridge was fun. Once you cross to the other side there are quite a few stairs to take you up to the trails. The trail is well marked, shaded, and easy to follow, but on the map it is labeled as an easy trail, however personally I think it was more of a moderate trail due to the need to climb the stairs and hills. When we returned to the nature center we went down another path/trail to the Cascades. This was the best part of our day and the reason why I gave the park a better than average rating. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the water, climbing and then sliding down the rocks. We also walked further down the creek and viewed another waterfall from the top down. It was gorgeous and quite a ways down to the bottom! We spent so much time in this area of the park - almost 5 hours - that we ran out of time to visit the other areas. If you like waterfalls, I definitely recommend a visit to this park!
