Absolutely beautiful area, beautiful drive in this horse country.. the little town of Leiper's Fork has art galleries, Puckett's groceries to get some to eat, and listen to music on the weekend, and a few other places to eat. It has a beautiful antique store there..Masion Seriente, and other nice stores, lots of fun. One of my favorite places to go on the weekends when visiting Nashville. Beware on Mondays and Tuesday most things are shut down.
Go to Leipers Fork and see all the antiques and eat lunch in one of the eateries. You might get to see Wynonna, Keith, or Nicole having lunch. Tim and Faith just might be there. You can never tell!
Great small town to stop and spend some time visiting a variety of unique shops and eateries. Puckett's Grocery is our favorite especially when they have live music. Old fashioned general store with hot food and plenty of environment to soak up! The countryside if beautiful too and during warm weather you can enjoy an outdoor movie or concert during the summer months. Be sure to include this town if you are day tripping near Franklin or just want an afternoon drive someplace and haven't been yet. I recommend Leiper's Fork for all who like to unwind to a slower pace.
Not sure why people rave about Leiper's Fork, if you blink, you'll miss it. There are a couple of lousy restaurants (the Puckett's there is NOT the same as the amazing Puckett's downtown Franklin, do not go to this one!) and Fly South (terrible food, but their Green Hills location is very good), a few great little stores to poke around in and a couple of very expensive art galleries but that's it. Nothing else. Going here shouldn't take longer than 90 minutes including lunch!!
Really enjoy visiting Leiper's Fork, great stores, great art gallery, good food...just wish more would open up.
I've been to Leiper's Fork several times but this visit was the most delightful! We luckily were visiting in the fall when the leaves were beautiful and the area was full of fall festivals and pumpkin sales. The drive from Franklin is lovely, even with the crowds that day due to multiple special fall events in the area. When we arrived at Leiper's Fork, we were afraid we would get sucked up in the huge Chili Cook-off crowd, but by asking discovered from the police/parking guy that there was parking in the town in spite of the crowd for the chili fest. We drove on into the town and parked at the church. Every restaurant and shop had charming natural fall displays and several fire pits invited one to sit a spell. Some musicians played in various spots. The shops and galleries were beautifully decorated for fall. Be sure to look out the back of the shops on the creek side of the town.....some cozy porches and more charming-ness you don't want to miss! There are several good choices for lunch; we chose a farmer's market type restaurant with an interminably long wait after ordering our food, but once it finally arrived, was well worth it, fresh and delicious. Cannot remember the name of the restaurant or stores, but all of it is right there so you cannot miss anything. I've also been here in spring but not as many things were open.
Great place to spend a few hours. Great stores to go in. Several places to eat. Beautiful country side, horse farms, July 4 fireworks display
The community at Leiper's Fork has worked hard to revive their small town and they have succeeded! Take time to enjoy all the antique shops and the entire main street, and try as much as the food as possible, but don't leave without visiting Yeoman's in the Fork and Puckett's. Yeoman's is located in an old home and is now a fantastic antique book store. You'll be intrigued by this vast collection and some of the rarest books you're likely to ever find. Puckett's is the local grocery and eatery. Stop in for some live music and great food, especially burgers and bar-b-que.
I must admit we had no idea what to expect of Leiper's Fork and still I am at a loss to describe it. A spot on the road out in the country - but so much more. Along the strip of shops and restaurants are tables and chairs and, on this cold blustery day, warm fires to sit around. Live music at Puckett's Grocery could be heard inside and out. The place was also packed inside and out with diners. It seems to be quite the destination on a Sunday afternoon. The quality and uniqueness of the merchandise in the shops was impressive. In one store a man played the accordion, reminding me of my childhood when accordion music wafted from my uncle's house next door. I cannot wait until our next visit.
Time to slow down and relax at Liepers fork. Pucketts is a must, sitting outside by the fire and check out all their evening venues and music on the weekends. Puckets has a pretty cool calendar during the week also.
We happened upon Leipers Fork by surprise several years ago while taking a shortcut to Franklin coming from the West. The restaurants and boutique shoppes were so much fun! This location is such a treasure to a traveler that loves to find pleasant pockets along the road. A must see if you are in the area!
Visiting on a Monday was a mistake since all shops but one were closed. Pucketts Grocery and restaurant was open also with a delicious blackberry cobbler ready to serve. Plan for 2 hours to a half day to browse through about a half dozen local shops.
We love to drive the Natchez Trace and stop off at Leipers Fork for shopping and a bite to eat. Nice and quaint.
Leipers Fork is an interesting place to visit. It is a pretty drive through the countryside to get there. There are some unique antique shops and other boutique businesses to visit. There is often live music played in the area. It is a pleasant preservation of mostly old houses converted into quant little businesses. It's worth the drive out there to check it out.
It's about 80 miles from our house but it's a nice drive. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was a busy place. 2 restaurants and several interesting shops. Were going to eat at Puckett's but it was a 45 minute wait for a hamburger and they are a little pricey. Went across the street to the other restaurant, had a short wait but the food was great, cannot remember the name but we will definitely go back there and eat again sometime and the service was good too.
