Wow, way to go Nashville. This park is great with room for more if needed. I didn't even know this place existed, it didn't when I moved away from TN back in 1995. Such a great addition. I really enjoyed the giant map and the timeline markers but my favorite was probably the war memorials. This place should be on everyone's to-do list when visiting Nashville, I loved it.
Nice park, good walk but nothing spectacular. Some friends were a bit too excited... The columns and globe are fun.
My friend and I spent about an hour on our own walking and reading and listening to the bells. The view of the capital building is a must in Nashville.
The wall that edges this park and the walkway on the parallel contains more history about Tennessee and Nashville than I ever knew! It is a peaceful place to contemplate and reflect.
Went to the park, nice weather, clean, safe, very family friendly. Noticed early tailgaters for football games park for free in the park and start to party early. Lots of open green space & the Parthenon was neat.
This place is a fantastic place to take a walk and learn about the history of Tennessee. The bells were my favorite part along with the globe fountain. Would be a wonderful picnic location or quite place to read.
We hired a private tour of Nashville and our guide took us of the beaten path to see this. It turned out to be the highlight of our tour. Don't miss it.
Likes the globe fountain. Lots to read about each state. Very informative and instresting. I really liked the walking path about the counties
You'd think its easy to locate giant pillars but this place was hard to find! This place is part of the Capitol Mall Park which is a tiny park in Nashville. The park is really nice, well-kept, and quiet. The park itself was hard to find because you have to walk down this hill to get to it and we did not see any signs stating that this was the park but after asking around, we were told this was it! (Hint: the park is across from the Capitol building). When you get to it, there is a small fountain where kids can play at and it was really pretty there. There is a path you walk on and there are sculptures and statues along the way (be sure to check out the floating globe). At the end of the path, there are these pillar. We were there in the daytime so I'm really not sure if they light up but they were really just a set of pillars in a half circle. It made for some unique pictures but nothing much to see here besides that. It was also raining when we were there so it really put a damper on our mood.
Authentic!! Lots of fun and very educational. Living history actors who are 'spot-on' with the characters they represent. For the entire weekend they live like the era they represent.
Excellent place for someone not from TN to get a quick overview of the state. Very unique set up that everyone within our group enjoyed.
Let's just say we would not have seen this place if not for our tour guide on the trolley going on and on about it! This park is set up to really pay homage to everything about the state. My kids loved the floating globe and standing on the echo circle. There's so much history in the park and just the timeline on the history wall is enough to make this park worth seeing.
so many food options, best bbq I have ever hadwish the jamaican place was open when I visited Rented bikes and rode them around the mall
This is a very nice park at the foot of the TN State Capitol. Very interesting to see. Pretty fountains and a nice ampitheater.
We went here by chance (bored) but found it very restful The granite monoliths erected along the side of the park gave a history of Tennessee from its earliest days through the years to the present. A very clever presentation and very interesting. Likewise the WW2 memorial garden was very unusual with huge engraved blocks in a circle commemorating the forces. The farmers market is across the road which is also worth a visit.
