We did the zip line adventure this weekend. Great way to keep a couple of teenagers (and their parents) busy for an afternoon. 450 foot zip line provides a 25 second or so ride with enough speed to get your heart pounding. Zip line access required a little scrambling up a maintained hillside trail and crossing a monkey bridge to the starting platform in the top of a tree. Not an activity for someone with limited mobility or problems with heights. The staff is incredible; enthusiastic and fun plus very safety oriented. An expanded selection of zip lines, promised for next year, could take this rating to a 5. Reservations are a must. They provide transportation from I-70 to their location.
My wife & I arranged our trip online from the UK. The whole process was painless, and we could have chosen white water rafting or tours of the Rockies, but our interest was fly fishing - half day or full day excursions with a guide were on offer. We went for a half day trip, and were collected from our hotel in Denver at 8.00 in the morning by Scott Dickson, who whisked us off to the foothills of the rockies to the fast-flowing mountain stream he'd selected, a journey of about 40 minutes. Scott equipped us with waders and set up our rods and off we went. Tuition is available for even absolute novices, but in the event Pam & I knew the basics as we do a bit of lake fishing back in the UK but had no experience of stream fishing, so Scott's knowledgable advice was invaluable. I can only say that, although wild fly fishing is notoriously tricky anywhere in the world, thanks to Scott we caught and released 8 brown and rainbow trout between us in about 3 hours -way ahead of our expectations. A fantastic trip was rounded off by a visit to the nearby Tommyknockers Brewery which was a perfect end. HIGHLY recommended
