Great place for small children. Pretty clean. Loved that they offer family changing rooms. My only complaint was I don't think people should be allowed to save 15 plus chairs. If you want to save a few fines but don't take up several tables and over 15 chairs for people that don't even show up for almost 2 hours after you saved the chairs. Ridiculous.
Pirate's Cove literally has something for everyone! There are big and little slides, diving board, shallow pools and deep pools, a lazy river, SHADE, lots of chairs, and when the chairs are taken, there is grass and plenty of places to lay out your towels. My daughter and I were visiting the Denver area with my grandchildren ages, 9, 7, and 1. We all had a blast!
I've spoken to a few people about this place and no one knows about it in Southern Colorado. However, I highly recommend taking your family to this place. I took my kids, ranging in ages from 1 and 1/2 to 9 years-old, and they had a blast! There is something for every age and the amount of attractions were just enough for us to fill satisfied when we left at closing. My family and I hit all of the slides, played hide n go seek in the pool, shoveled some sand in the sand pit, sprayed some passers by at the playground in the pool, and relaxed in the Lazy River. Nothing super special but the price was right, especially with the coupons we found online. It's an experience that every Coloradan should have.
I have gone to Pirates Cove year after year because of their amazing staff and facility. As and Ellis and Associates Facility, Pirates Cove is super committed to the safety of all guests. It is so great to watch my kids and know they are being watched by the great lifeguards! Every time I am there it seems like they are testing them with their creepy lifeguard testing doll and practicing how to be a lifeguard. I think that this place is great. The pools are fun, relaxing, and just a good time! I would highly recommend this place!
They offer a military discount and the price can't be beat! I have four kids, ages 12, 10, 5, and 4. They love the place! There is something for all ages and the price is SO much better than going to Water World and even though it's a small water park, it is so much easier to go there and hang out all day!
We did our girl scout troop, back to school event here. The place was great and the staff was very accommodating of our large group (as we had extend GS family there too.) I guess my only complaint was how crowded it go but it must be good to get that crowded!
Pirates Cove is a great place to entertain kids. It has all you would want in a water park. It is also very affordable!
I stumble on this park season before last, we spend most of our free time there. My son absolutely loves it! They have something for kids of all ages. We had fun on the lazy river, the slides are a bit much for some of the younger children but there is plenty of other attractions for the younger ones. They have a giant sand box, a pool, wading area, slides, lazy river etc. One note it does get crowded quickly! You may have to wait a bit for a tube for the lazy river or the slides. Go early or late in the afternoon.
It was an early Sunday morning, a half hour before the place opened. The line almost stretched halfway across the park. I waited in the hot sun for a while, and then the line moved really fast. I jumped in the lazy river on the first tube I could find as the first people of the day. The Lazy River is great for all ages and is very relaxing. Not far away from that are the water slides. Kids love the slides, as long as they pick the right ones. The orange slide is open and is the slowest of the three. All ages would be fine on that one. The next slide is yellow. This slide is closed and curvy. You go faster on it but not too fast. It is a really good speed. Only go on the last one if your brave enough. I nicknamed it "The Purple". This purple slide plummets you down really fast, unlike the other slides that are curvy. It is a closed slide and it feels like you're going straight down. It was fun going down, but once you reached the water, it feels like you're drowning. The entire ride was four seconds. I do not recommend this slide for small children. After you finish the slide, go to the Pirate Ship. Water splashes you this way and that and is a lot of fun for little kids. There is even a giant bucket that fills with water and then dumps on top of you, which is really fun. If you want to relax, there are plenty of chairs with plenty of shade. You can also get lunch if you get hungry. Another place is the sandbox. Fun for little kids. The last place is the pool. There is another slide that is only a half slide. It's half a closed tube, and then opens to nothing under you and you fall in the water! It was a very fun slide. There is also a diving board that you can jump off of. In the pool, you can also lap swim or just play. That was my day at Pirates Cove.
It was a Saturday, and there was no parking. I parked about 1/2 mile away. The kids got a kick out of the water features like slides and the giant tippy bucket. It was reasonably clean. Some of the lazy river tubes were deflating and unusable, and the wait to use one was about 20 minutes. Lots of birthday parties happening here. Some teens enjoying the park, but wasn't overrun while we were there.
I take about 40 boys and girls to Pirate's Cove each year. The group adventure is a reward for the services of our altar servers at St. Louis Church. The children always have a good time because there is so much to do. It is more then just a swimming pool. There are water slides, a lazy river, splash pools, a big bucket that dumps water on the kids, kiddie pools, and a large swimming pool with a diving board and slide. On hot days there can be a crowd which causes long lines for the concession stand and parking problems. (There is overflow parking at Bellview Park.)
This water park is perfect for all ages. There's an area for toddlers and younger kids, and plenty to do for teens and even adults. Price is very reasonable! We love going here.
Pirates Cove is a great water park for your kids 12 and under. I went there and was able to have a days worth of fun for my 10 year old and 5 year old at a VERY reasonable price. The park is better than your neighborhood pool with 3 water slides (slow, medium and fast), a lazy river, a nice sized kiddie pool and play area, and a deeper lap pool with 1m diving board. The activities kept my kids busy the whole day, although if they were a little older I think they would have gotten bored fairly soon. Although for the price it's affordable to go for a half-day!!Some of the plusses:- Parking was free- You're able to bring in your own cooler with food and drink (No glass or alcohol though)- Fairly inexpensive- Lots of covered picnic tables and lounge chairs- This place is perfect for younger kids who are looking for more action than just a pool.Minuses- Not a lot of variety on the rides if that is what you're looking forSuggestions- Get there early if you want a covered picnic table. We arrived about 15 minutes after they opened and got the last one. - Pack a cooler and save a lot on food $$- If you don't want to get there early to get a covered table, they have Cabana's for rent.
