Excellent collection of Buffalo Bill memorabilia. We learned more here than at the museum in Cody, WY. Especially interesting how Buffalo Bill incorporated diversity in his show, and tried to teach that American Indians were not savage people. The museum is worth $5 per adult, and $1 per child (every kid will LOVE practice calf roping in the lower level). Great place to have a picnic lunch on the patio (or eat in the cafe). Be sure to take a family picture with the mountains to the west in the background.

I had no idea what a big deal Buffalo Bill was near the turn of the century. It was a well organized place with clear, easy to follow information. Very good value at $5 per adult. Really cheap for kids.

The drive up the mountain and the neat restaurant up top is the draw. The grave site is a joke. SORRY.

The Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum was well worth the $5 for adult admission. The museum was filled with memorabilia, great background information, Native American artifacts, and some good photo ops for kids. There is a video at the beginning of the museum that was informative and recommended if you don't know much about Buffalo Bill. The views from atop the museum were well worth the price of admission. The scenery was amazing, with deer at the entrance and views of the town of Golden far below. It was snowing heavily when we visited and did not go to the grave site.

The view is great but don't go up on a Monday because the museum is closed. The gift shop is large and they have a great little place to get a root beer float. My teen had to have two.

I agree with the comments about the view. Yes, there is a gift shop, but if you take the time to walk through the museum (yes there is a charge for the museum, but not for the grave site) it provides some interesting history about Buffalo Bill. If you have time take the trip up to the grave site, do it.

We went to the museum in the middle of Gray Line's Denver Mountain's Park. The drive to the museum is itself a attraction, with great scenary. The view of Denver's dowtown skyline and the table mountain is beautiful. The museum is big enough for us to get acquainted with the amazing Buffalo Bill's story. The gift shop is full of good options os souveniers. The drive going back is also very nice.

It is a bit of a drive off the path to get to the grave and once you get there it is pretty much a gift shop and...a grave. But the view is beautiful and it is worth the journey if you have the time.

This was an interesting visit when we were returning from the Bison Outlook at Genesee Park. There are some interesting tidbits of information about Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley and some interesting looking ammunition in a display cabinet. There is a short walk to Buffalo Bill's grave and there is a wonderful view of Golden from above on Lookout Mountain. There are also large Black Squirrels in the area. This is part of Denver Parks and Recreation.

Unfortunately the museum is closed on Mondays but the gift shop and café is open. Great rootbeer floats just as advertised. Large gift shop with a variety of items to choose from. Beautiful view of the mountains.

Decided to visit while on a weekend trip to Denver. Admission to the museum is $5 but it's worth the price. Watch the short video of Buffalo Bill's life then wind through the small-ish but nicely designed exhibits featuring some personal artifacts and history. Plenty of things for kids to do as well. After the museum, climb the short path up the hill to his grave with a beautiful view (well, minus a cell phone tower) of Denver. There's also a large but very kitschy gift shop if you'd like a few mementos of your visit.

I had been taking friends and family up here for years without ever paying to go into the museum. I finally did and it is totally worth the price. Their exhibits are amazing. I really fell in love with the story of Buffalo Bill after going through the museum. Their gift shop is absolutely fun. They have a lot of great crap for you to waste money on. I would have given this a 5 star rating if it wasn't for some worker in the gift shop snapping at us for picking up items we were interested in buying. Otherwise I highly recommend everyone take the fun drive up Lookout Mountain to come up. It's free to see the grave and the beautiful views.

We stopped off on our way from along to the airport. It's really close to the i70 so easy to get to. Good museum, only $5 am adult, has a short movie about buffalo bills life and lots of artifacts.Great views over Denver.

This was an unexpected surprise! Went to this museum as a side trip while in Denver. A self guided tour that had all the information on the exhibits. It was very expansive on Buffaloe Bill's life and accomplishments. There was a 15 min video before you started your tour. It had other information on famous American Indian Chieftans as well, all about their involvement in the Wild West Show. You could also visit Mr. Cody's grave. There is a nice gift shop, touristy items, as well as an ice cream shop. No real food as per se, but something to get you by til you get back down the mountain. Did I mention the scenic drive to get there?! It was a beautiful clear day and I could see for miles. Had to take pictures from the parking lot it was so georgeous! It is about 45 min from downtown Denver, was a bit difficult to find the correct road due to construction on the interstate, but was worth the hunt. He is now on my personal list of American Heroes due to this exhibit. Price? Get this! $5.00! Worth taking my older grandkids.
