Whitewater Hill has been a sponsor at an event we had attended several years ago. So, when my son and his significant suggested a wine tour, I was hoping they would ask to stop here.I was thrilled to see that they had other wine related items to buy, and were very knowledgeable. I did buy the dessert wine to bring home for our anniversary this upcoming weekend.
Nice setup, friendly staff and very decent wines, especially the dry reds. Even full bodied cab franc. A must stop in the area
This was winery had an amazing view. Their wines were wonderful and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine prices were also reasonable. Great visit1
This was the third winery we visited one day. Each winery kept sending us to the next "must do" winery. We are glad we got to meet Nancy and taste her wines. Free tastings and many to taste. I am amazed at these CO wineries. They do it all. The grow the grapes, they make the wine and then they are the people pouring it. It is a wonderful experience. Nancy will answer all your questions. I learned about ice wine. I had never really understood that process and now I do. It was a great experience. Tasting room has some other items to buy. We bought a few bottles of wine to enjoy while we were in the area. I wish we could get these wines at home. Worth your time to stop and try their wines and have a chat with Nancy. Good time.
The staff were very nice & helpful. The wine selection was excellent & well as the tasting! They have a great selection of wine accessories to purchase also!
We had a great experience at Whitewater Hill. Showed up early at 10 am then within 10 minutes there were 16 others that showed up. The tasting room is quaint and the wine is wonderful. Great selections and all pretty darn tasty. The winemaker was helping out pouring and she was a delight. It was nice to learn about the grapes and process and her insight. All local grapes. Overall our experience was top notch and it was a great stop. We are enjoying the wine and will be back for sure.
We tried almost every wine on their menu and could have bought every one! They are that good! We met the wine master who was friendly and made our visit enjoyable. Can't wait to visit again.
and well worth the stop. As it was early in the day we were the only people tasting. A very good cross section and our hostess spent the time to go through each in detail.a very nice start to our tasting tour and a couple of bottles in the trunk to enjoy later!!
What a pretty vineyard this is. I tasted a huge variety of their wines, one of which was the delicious ice wine. I was smacking my lips as I sipped the nectar. Lots of wines to chose from and taste, and of course, you can buy wine. With a car you can take more than duty-free or airlines will allow. The view is also awesome with the Bookcliffs in the distance. Do visit if you can as it's a chance to sample some really interesting and tasty wines. If you're lucky enough, Nancy will fill you in on some details of her industry.
We dropped into this vineyard/winery on our way from Grand Junction to Palisade, drove past then turned around because it sneaks up on you..so glad we did! Great wine, generous tasting samples, nice folks, probably the favorite of the seven or eight wineries we visited in Palisade area over two days.
Nancy and John, and their staff, are very welcoming in addition to being knowledgeable about their wines. Their Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are mellow. Their No Oak Chardonnay is a great one for those who don't like that oak taste.
A large selection of wines. Nancy was very personable and we enjoyed visiting with her while we sampled the wines.
We visited a bunch of vineyards in the wine country here, and on the whole were impressed with the quality of the wines. However, I don't like to buy wine at vineyards that is not as good as the wine I can buy at the store for the same price. We did find a few vineyards in the area that had wines that we would buy, but most seemed a little pricy considering what you can find elsewhere. Whitewater Hill was an exception, because their wines were very well made, quite good, and priced in a range where they are a bargain compared to what you find on the shelf at your local wine shop. Add to this the fact that they are in a picturesque location and give a nice tasting, and this winery is a must-visit if you are in the area.
I love wine and they have a good mix of wines. Take a tour of the facility and go do the wine tasting. It is awesome to support our local wineries
We drove from Grand Junction toward Palisade and out to Whitewater Hill Vineyards. The tasting room was basic but large and did offer several nice tastings as well as wine accessories. There was a nice seating area outside. I would recommend giving this place a try. We noticed the farther away from I-70 the more wines the winery offers for tasting/person.
