Took my sister from NYC just so she could get the quirky gift shop souvenirs to take home. Yes it is basically a six foot high additional "tower" so you get an even BETTER look at all those UFOs whizzing by. It really is a great location for star gazing, just like the whole San Luis Valley. But go anyway. You never know. The truth is out there.

We were on our way out of the valley driving down Hwy 61. I was on the look out for this, thinking it was an actual tower. If it looked promising, I was going to talk Scott into stopping. We did slow the car, since there was no one behind us. It looks like a typical tourist trap & a shabby one at that. I didn't see anything resembling a tower. If you're bored out of your mind maybe....

We visited just to check it off the Colorado Must See List! The owner is one of a kind! She is sweet, is accepting of all even if you dont believe what she believes in and is just happy your there! It is $2 a person and $5 per car. She has chairs to sit in a relax not only to look for UFOs but relax and look at the mountains, and scenery! Great space. The best part is the garden of peoples trinkets they have left behind. It started as one thing but grown into thousands and thousands! make sure you stop by and leave something little behind to add to her expanding garden. There is also camping for $10 bucks a night! Beats the crowds at the park itself. More peace and quiet!

Ok- it looks weird from the road and you don't know what kind of freak you're going to meet thats running it as you drive up a dirt road and see alien sculptures - and a small half circle building with a deck on the top- really? I was skeptical. But when the truck pulled up behind us and it was the lady that owns it, and she introduced herself, I'm a believer now!! She has amazing pictures, wonderful stories, and never tries to push any theories or whacko stuff our way. SO glad we stopped. Be sure to take a trinket to leave in her garden!

We like the offbeat stop, and this one takes the cake. About the same as our last stop here many years ago, but not open this time (bummer!).Cost is $2 per person or $5 per car- pay in the box if they're not open. We did take the opportunity of no one else there to snap some aerial views of this location.

While in Alamosa we decided to get off the beaten path, so I printed out a list of odd attractions to see in Colorado. We pulled in to this watchtower and had to laugh. There was no one to take our money but my husband left it in the box anyway. The shop was closed so we just walked around looking at all the stuff people had left behind. My husband has a great sense of humor and was anxious to see what else was on the list. I figure we should see the tourist attractions and also get off the beaten path. You never know when you will find a treasure. Maybe they are more busy on the week ends.

We went out here on the way to another near by attraction. The lady who runs it is very nice and has a lot of information to share. We walked around the vortex areas and we swear you could feel it. My husband is skeptical and he felt something. Than we walked around the out fields. It was interesting to hear and read about the UFO sightings. As hokey as it may sound, you will be hard pressed to find a local who has not seen something in the night skies that they can't explain. If you wanted to camp here you can for $10.00 a night. It is basic, but you can stay up all night watching for UFOs. A good place to visit with family and friends.

We just weren't satisfied enough by stopping at the meteor crater in Arizona, especially since that was like throwing $15 into the crater just to walk to the edge. So we made sure to stop at the Watchtower, and what fun THAT was. It's more like a spread out shrine to UFOs where visitors can linger awhile, leave bits and bobs for aliens, or lounge on a rickety chaise lounge on the deck, which is carefully placed between two vortices. The landscape was stark but beautiful and the dark clouds were forming when we were there, and that all added to the mystery AND fun of this roadside attraction. I think the 'proprietor in town for a dentist appointment' sign must be standard fare, since another visitor made mention of it in an earlier visit. Do add this to your list of things to do in southern Colorado. It really is a hoot.

My sister and I drove up to the watchtower which appeared to be closed. However, before we could park, the owner drove us and warmly greeted us. We had a really pleasant visit with Judy and she explained the garden and opened up the small shop. She allowed us to stay as long as we wanted to enjoy the sunset and watch the Sangre de Cristos "lit up" with the setting sun. Totally stop and get to know the very friendly owner!

We decided to stop here since we had driven by it on previous trips and wondered about it. We were the only ones there, and the woman who runs it was very friendly and informative. She put a lot of time and energy into opening and running the site. I don't really believe in aliens or UFOs, but it was a fun stop and the garden was interesting to check out.

The UFO watchtower is basically a viewing platform stuck out in the middle of a desert plain. It is surrounded by a 'garden' which is a pile of vaguely UFO-themed junk, with a few stuffed aliens and plastic UFOs. But - there is something insanely funny about how awful it is - and we enjoyed taking photos - and it is only $2, which the owner's daughter tells me is keeping her dairy-farming mother from going under... so all in a good cause!

Not really sure what to say except - keep driving past it. Not worth the time or the effort. But apparently building an actual tower wasn't either.

We were visiting the Gater Farm, which is very close by and decided to pop in and see the UFO watchtower. I found it very quirky and interesting, and we got lots of funny photo's of us posing with various 'alien's! It was also interesting to look through the folders in the shop which have details of people's UFO 'encounter's. I would certainly recommend it, if you are passing by, and fancy seeing something a bit different!

I just had to see what this was, but I was disappointed. It costs $2 to look at a big rock garden with all sorts of UFO and ET objects and "stuff" dropped off by visitors. I missed meeting the owner, which probably would have made the trip wothwhile. I understand she has seen 30 of the alleged 60 UFO sightings at or nearby the location. The gift shop has similar "stuff" inside that you can buy. I managed to find a bumper sticker to remember the experience. But I wouldn't go back and unless you are really just driving by, I wouldn't make a point to go here. Unless of course you are a die hard UFO believer like me and just have to see it for yourself.
