shore shot pistol range

While in Seaside Heights we were looking for something different to do one rainy day. I saw an advert for Shore Shot Pistol Range in Lakewood so I figured why not give shooting guns a try. It was only 30 minutes from Seaside via the Garden State Parkway. Myself and guest were welcomed by a pleasant staff member named Phil who helped us choose the guns we were going to shoot. We decided on a 22 to start with. The price for 2 people was $65 for a gun rental, ammunition and targets. Phil went over the rules with us and introduced is to Doug who would be our instructor. No charge for the instruction by the way. We chose eye and ear protection and headed out on the range with Doug. He stood by us the whole time teaching us how to grip, stand and shoot accurately without being overbearing. He was very patient and extremely knowledgable. After abouth 30 minutes of shooting we switched to bigger caliber, a 9mm. Doug taught us well with the 22, and we applied what we learned to shooting the 9mm. What a blast!!! It was a pleasure shooting guns for the first time in a safe atmosphere. All of the staff were professional and courtious during our time there. If you have a desire to shoot guns in a safe environment. I can highly recommend Shore Shot Pistol Range. We had a great time, and will return there next time we're in the area.
