We love the Littleton Museum and have had success going there at any time of the year. Farm animals are always a hit, and it is wonderful to slow down a little bit and explore these farms. If you just want a slow afternoon to spend with your family, this is the place. There is not a lot in terms of activities that are organized, but we wandered and watched the hogs, sheep, cows, horses, cats, and chickens for a surprisingly long time without a hint of boredom.

We went here on a Scouting trip and all the kids wanted to do was get outside. It is a great museum but, all the interesting stuff is outside. The kids loved learning about blacksmith's and wandering around the farm area. I think they all found it interesting that our suburban lifestyle was once a rural area. When I go back, I will ensure we spend more time indoors learning about the area as I am sure it is fascinating.

I cannot say how awesome it was. I have lived here since I was 12, and never even knew it was there! It is a little out of the way, but completely worth it. Free? Yes please, however, please leave a donation please - we have to keep this gem available for years to come! This is someplace special, that I will bring my grandkids to someday. The working farm is very very interesting, not only for adults, but for kids as well. The farm itself is huge, and absolutely beautiful around the lake. Animals everywhere, and the blacksmith is amazing. He spoke a lot of the history of the buildings, the land, etc, and we hung on his every word. Teaching us some blacksmithing techniques was great. The historical significance of that farm gives you chills. Everyone who works here are great, and always ready to answer questions. The museum is a historical monument to Littleton. Clean, interesting, a real winner. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours.

The Littleton Museum is a step back in history that is fun for the whole family, all year long! From art galleries inside, to the historic farm and garden outside, there is something for everyone. A great place to bring visitors to find out about our community. We take our grandchildren often, throughout the year, and always look forward to the new baby lambs in the spring, outdoor concerts in the summer, and the Christmas event during December. Check the museum's schedule for all events occurring every month during the entire year. A must for all, there is no charge to come, visit and explore. They do accept donations, but there are no set fees. Truly an enjoyable place to visit and learn.

Great place to take young kids and older kids alike. Good learning experience as well on history of Littleton, plus animals/ historical buildings outside. I have been taking my daughter here ever since she was a baby and we still going now, as she nears 12 yrs old :).

What a fun place to take the family. We took a punic and walked the grounds. We felt like we had gone back in time. It was a really fun day.

This museum has an indoor museum showing the history of the area as well as a world war 2 exhibit. It is beautifully done. Then you go outside and see 2 sections of Colorado history. One side is life in the 1860's. The other side is 1890's - 1940's. Big difference. Well worth a few hours of your time. These people worked hard!!!

Enjoyed the docents and how easily they interacted with young children. Birds and animals galore were both huge fans of the children.

I took my 2 year old grandson and we had a blast. He was more interested in the exhibits than the animals which surprised me. he loved walking through the old farm house and school, and I had to drag him out of the kid's kitchen in the main museum. He was fascinated by the sculpture in the attached photo. He really did not want to leave. Oh, I had fun too!

This great outdoor museum has two parts set up as farms or homesteads of bygone eras! Everything there is done according to what was done during the time depicted. There is even an old blacksmith shop which, if you are lucky, will be staffed with one of the volunteers who will fill you in on the features of a smithy and will even demonstrate how to make items from the iron. In the fall, there is a harvest festival when you can sample the apple cider that has been pressed right there on the premises, and you can have a sample of the pork which has been roasting over an open spit! Lots of fun for kids and grownups alike.

Best free entertainment in Littleton. Love their rotating exhibits inside have been great also. My daughters like their old fashioned play kitchen the best; always hard to get them to leave.

Imagine that, a museum free, with a nice outdoor area outside with old frontier type farm and animals along a pathway. Indoor exhibit was Freda Kahlo with pictures of the Mexican artist wife of Diego Rivera muralist, taken by a famous photographer of that time. Visited with son's family.

Nicest staff, loved the outdoor/ interactive farm & house. Highly recommend for the family if you are in/ near Littleton.

This is a sweet gem of an historical museum. It's right in the middle of the Littleton suburbs, but you'd swear you were in the country in the late 1800s.Very hands on, lots of farm animals, helpful volunteers. A favorite place for local artists to go and set up their easels.

It's a free museum which is really a working farm that is great fun to walk around with the kids. Usually it's not too crowded and it's an easy place to spend a few hours. Take a picnic and eat across the street at Gallup Park.
