Played here earlier this week, and the course was in great condition. Greens were fast, but smooth. This is a fun and challenging course.
This is a fun course to play but they have always been a little too proud of it in terms of the prices they charge. There are many other public courses nearby that are just as nice but that don't charge as much. There's simply nothing about this course that warrants the higher price tag.
We have played this course several times and have always had a wonderful experience. The course originally was a farm, so the landscape is very mature. And they keep it in very good shape. And most of the holes are interesting and play fair. We feel it is a good value, particularly because of the special senior rate. And the carts have GPS. I hate to give it such a good review because we don't want it to get too popular! We want to keep it as our secret favorite place to play!
This is a beautiful course with lots of bunkers and water hazards. The golf pros are friendly and very helpful. I know people who go to the restaurant for Sunday brunch and say that it is wonderful.
Privately owned course for the public, interesting layout, great condition this past weekend, greens were fast downhill (wonderful) and slow uphill. But 5 hours 15 minutes is way too long for a round of 18, and the marshal did not seem to understand which group was causing the problem and constantly bothered us even though we waited on every single shot (no exaggeration) from the tee or fairway and told the marshal which group ahead of us was the problem (it was plain to see how far behind they were). Here's a hint for the marshal: the group that is waiting five minutes or more on EVERY SHOT is not the problem; the group that is up to 2 holes behind all day long IS the problem. Hopefully, we have identified the slow players from our club in the tournament and will do our part to chastise them because, in the end, slow play is our problem, not just the course's problem. Pro shop staff seemed to be making a determined effort to make the visit enjoyable. I look forward to going back to play a casual round or two.
Raccoon Creek is a fun fair course. Golf course was in good shape. Although I had a good experience, I like fox hollow and/or Lone Tree better. If you are looking for a deal, I bet you can find one here.
When driving onto this little golf course the outlying buildings give the feeling of returning to the 1950's. It is a beautiful little course with views of the Rocky Mountains and the breakfast is delicious.
Raccoon Creek GC is a great public track, with over 6700 yards from the blue tees and 6050 from the whites. The course is in great shape, you really have to think on each tee shot as each hole is different, with lots of water, tees, sand, etc to contend with. The staff are all friendly lead by head pro Pat Tait, and the restaurant is perfect for whatever you may need. I first played Raccoon Creek almost 30 years ago, it was great then and still is today.
To play 18 holes of golf, it should cost about 27 - 36 bucks. Walking. But it cost way too much. The course was half empty or more ! To fill the tee times, golf courses MUST lower the green fee prices, and the electric cart prices. No wonder golf is not growing !People cannot afford to play much. To capture new golfers and get others to repeat, the owners MUST, MUST LOWER the PRICES !! Lower green fees, range balls, and carts.Otherwise, the course is almost empty.
I love golf in Colorado however many of the courses are extremely proud of what they have to offer which translates into "expensive". Raccoon Creek is a GREAT course at an affordable price. Though it is more level than many of the courses I've played in Colorado the layout makes it extremely challanging. I've played it several times now and have always found the course to be in exceptional condition. Highly recommended if you enjoy the game!
The course is interesting, in great shape, pace of play is good, carts of GPS, and best of all the price is right. If you want to walk, it is walkable if you are in decent shape. The price for seniors during the week is $50 with cart and others $60. I don't think it can be beat.
This is a course that once you play twice the friendly people running the course know your name. It is in the center of the SW metro area, as cheap and sometimes (with specials), cheaper than many public courses. Well maintained and groomed. Great challenging layout for all levels with choice of tees. Dick Phelps who designed it felt it one of his bests because the owners (I believe the Grant Family) wanted an exceptional course and he was able to design and use more materials and trees than he usually was able on the many public courses he had done. Alwasy worth the money and I love playing it.
Not going to blow you away, but very nice city track. Solid condition, scorable if you play clean, but enough challenges that you feel good coming out keeping it in the 30s or low 40s. Nice views, casual feel.
I used to love playing this course when I could walk it. Not many up and downs - pretty flat with a bit of water hazards. But now that I ride more often with bad knees - the course is rather boring compared to others in the area.
This course is a lot of fun and very well run. People are friendly and having a great time. It's a very laid back course within a beautiful setting!
