Boyd Lake has been a favorite of our family for many years. It has a large campground, great beach area with playground and concessions stand, a marina and small store, and a lot of walking/biking trails.

We live in Loveland but we also camp in Loveland! We haul our camper out to Boyd Lake, where there is a swim beach, a park, restrooms with showers and really nice camp spots with fire pits and picnic tables. If you have camped with 3 young kids, you know that camping in the wilderness with no restrooms and nothing to do can be a challenge. So sometimes just to get away for 2 days, we love going here instead!

This is such a gem in Loveland. You are right in the middle of the city, yet you would swear you are in an outdoor paradise far from civilization. Beautiful!

We live 5 minutes from Boyd Lake and it is our go-to spot for frequent sailing. It is kept clean and with well groomed grassy areas. We also take our camper there for day trips. Electric hook-ups and clean restrooms; also a shower. The swim beach is very shallow and a good place for families. There is a main boat launch and a smaller one for the jet-ski area. Ample areas for picnics. The rangers are proactive about the rules. Would give this a 5-star rating except that we don't care for noisy jet skis, even though they do look like fun.

The trails are my favorite. This Park is at the east end of the hike/bike trail that goes through Loveland. The paved trails are wide plus there are dirt trails with explanations of plants and trees. In the summer, there is a concession stand at the sandy beach. Looks to me like the large campground is full most summer weekends. Check it out!

Probably should not tell you - but it is a great place for camping. The park is so nice and close to town. With a great path around the lake. We will be back!

Nice Place with a lot to do if you like picnicking, boating, swimming, etc. Our granddaughter had her wedding out there and it was very serene and beautiful! Enjoyed it!

This was a fine place to walk the dogs when I was visiting Loveland, prior to driving to Estes Park.

This is a great place to base camp or to enjoy swimming or boating on the lake. We were in Loveland for a wedding and appreciated the super clean bathrooms and sites which the camp hosts were diligent about keeping that way. We also liked being close to town but not feeling like we were camping in town. We stayed in early August and these are our hints: Reservations are a must, the place can be packed. If you go to RMNP, go EARLY! We were there by 9:00 am and could easily drive in and find parking. By noon the lines to get into the National Park were very long and parking was packed.

The park is lovely. The camping facilities seem more RV-oriented than tent-friendly. Still, the bathrooms were clean. Didn't try the pay showers. Pretty lakeside location, but susceptible to strong winds as there are few trees to block storms.

Bring your bug spray as there are tons of mosquitoes and bring your beer as there is not a lot to do here. We have camped in many different areas in Colorado and this park is only average. If you have a boat or like to fish you may find this park above average but, if you enjoy hiking and/or beautiful scenery, you will not love this camp site. The swimming beach is muddy and the water very cloudy but, the water was surprisingly warm. The amenities at the camp site were very good and always clean. My recommendation bring bug spray and a boat, if you do not have a boat, bring bug spray and beer.

Boyd Lake is a great State park in the middle of a thriving town (Loveland). Lots of activities are offered and fishing is decent... even though you gotta have a boat. You can bank fish, but make sure you do it early in the season, when it's cool. Trout doesn't like warm. I fished Mussel Beach. Caught a couple small trouts, but had to fight the weeds to do so. even had to wade out 20 feet to cast over the weed bank.. but the water felt great. Boating is the big there there, including water skiing. The park is all on the west side, and the lake is large. If you have a boat, get out there. Lots of camp spaces also.

We went on our friends boat. The lake was awesome on a Wednesday. Don't go on a weekend or else you will be dodging other boats. Good swimming area and little store at the dock.

Wide open spaces, blue sky, beautiful lake, great place for a bike ride or walk. Wear insect repellent just in case. West Nile virus is here but I have avoided them by consistently wearing repellent. Boaters and folks who like to fish love it here.

Large park with bathing beach (in summer) and miles of bike/walking trails. Exquisite views of the mountains from everywhere in the park. Large lake is divided into two parts - one for water-skiing and jet skiing, and the other for pontoon boats and fishing in a quieter atmosphere. RV sites are pretty big, but no sewer or water hook-ups available. Still very worth it.
