Honestly, we stopped here because my boys wanted a picture of the dam sign. They cracked up every time they said it.... dam store, dam sign, dam drink, dam candy, dam t-shirt.... you get it. And they still talk about it! Awesome view from the tower and a nice little selection of souvenirs. Great place to stop! We will definitely stop again next time we're in the area.
A "must-see" tourist stop for everything Colorado! Don't forget to climb the tower for a spectacular view of the canyon.
The Dam Store is a nice place to stop along the way to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park for snacks, soft drinks, and local souvenirs. Staff is friendly and there are plenty of Colorado trinkets and goodies to spend your money on.The Tower located just outside the store offers an easy climb to the top to take in the views of the surrounding area. You can surely see the flood damage from September of 2013. There is no fee to climb the Tower, but it is rather small so expect a wait on weekends and during peak times when travelers frequent The Dam Store.
If you are heading up the mountain you really should stop by. It has a great view. It has so much fun stuff inside and they don't want an arm and a leg for it. We stopped by and bought some gifts for Christmas. And everyone needs a t-shirt!
Cute. The place was charming, staff friendly for tourists and family oriented. We bought many souvenirs from there. :)
This is a cute store with a fantastic lookout point. Souvenirs are reasonably priced!! We make this a must stop every time we go to the mountains. It was very interesting that you could still see some of the flood damage from the September 2013 flood.
This store was fun and easy to stop off on the way up or down the mountain! Be sure to step out back on the deck to see the water over the dam.
They have a lot of everything here. Great place to visit before entering the Big Thompson Canyon to Estes Park. Check out the tower over the river, still many signs from flood of September 2013
It is a good place to stop before going through Big Thompson. Prices are good but is very touristy! :)
I absolutely adore this little store. Every time I go to Estes park I stop here for my favorite elk and venison jerky. The staff is always helpful and nice. Everyone I take goes on the tower and loves the beautiful views, I have yet to climb to the top. Great t shirts and hats. Hope this place is open forever.
I went up the tower with my 9 year old niece and we both enjoyed the views. The store had some nice employees and some souvenirs. I found shirts in size 3x and 4x if you are looking. No real bathroom stop you have to use port o potties but about 3 miles down is a store you can use. The tower is free so you might as well stop.
It is what it is, cheap t-shirts, trinkets, and a tower to look at the dam and river. I will say they have an interesting selection of jerky and the elk jerky is good. If nothing else get kangaroo or alligator jerky so you can tell your friends you ate kangaroo.
Not the cleanest store but it does have a lot of t-shirts to choose from. Parking is ok and it can be a little tricky to pull back out on the highway on a busy weekend day. Prices are reasonable and great way to show support after the floods.
We stopped for suvies. The place has some unique things and be sure to walk out the back and check the scenery.
With the tower over looking the damn it is the last stop before you get on the road through the canyon to Estes Park. They have a good visitors board with brochures. The shop has lots of things to buy also. Very nice people that work there.
