Went to spend some time away from slopes and had a great experience. Pool area super warm, 2ft pool for younger kids was great and big. Two slides; one a drop slide that required a swim test for kids...our 7 year old passed fine. Other slide very fun, winds around and fairly fast current. One lifeguard. Large area overall, locker rooms and workout area also nice. We were there on a Friday so it wasn't crowded at all. For our family of four it cost us about $34 to get in with no time limit.
I was here as part of an event. It's quite the place with an indoor pool (we were there in March with snow outside) that had a couple of small slides. They also have a full-size indoor basketball court. Nice place to get some exercise if you want to stay indoors.
Really well-equipped city rec center. Visitor rates reasonable for accommodations....weights, cardio equipment, pools, courts and clean showers. If vacationing, don't let your workout suffer...check this place out.
Think you'll miss the gym while you're visiting Summit County? What to do on a rainy day? Take the kids to the pool and try out the water slides. Try out the gym. It's a great day for the whole family!
I love the rec center. It is a large building, very clean and has a great selection. I love the fact you can run on the treadmill while looking out at the mountains. The pools are huge and there are even slides. If you are looking to kill a few hours while in town i definately recommend to stop.
we went several times as we had no hot tub with our condo. Clean, value for money and lovely out side hot tub!
My husband and I use the rec center when we visit the area and need to work out on rainy/snowy days. It is quite the place, offering everything from an indoor track to outdoor tennis courts. There is a huge aquatic center, basketball and racquet ball courts, a weight room, aerobic equipment and resistance training machines. The huge locker rooms are clean and the folks who work there are friendly and helpful. The one downside is that there aren't enough aerobic and weight training machines for the number of folks who want to use them. Also, some of the equipment is old and needs to be upgraded for more effective workouts.
Lot of swimming pools, good weight room and cardio equipment, lots and lots of other rooms and activities for all ages. Reasonable rates, discounts for residents and seniors.
So much for the whole family to enjoy. Great changing rooms, showers and pool. Make sure to hit the outdoor hot tubs as well
This facility is top notch for a public facility. They offer a variety of payment plans including memberships, punch cards and daily admission. Of course locals pay less as our taxes support the facility. The classes are right on and all parts of the facility are pleasant and clean. It is a great place to bring the kids as they have a wonderful and large kiddie pool with a small slide and separate larger slide for the big kids. The staff is very attentive with safety is their first concern. There is a lap pool as well as an exercise pool for non lap swimmers. Two hot tubs round out the aquatic are, one is outside. The weight room is small but adequate.
I have lived in Summit County for about 6 months and am about to move in 5 days. I have been a member of this facility for the 6 months that I have lived here paying 54 dollars per month or roughly $1.80 per day. My membership runs up today and I still have 5 days left in Summit County and would like to continue using the gym. I asked if they could work some type of week memebership out for me but was told i would have to pay $10 per day or buy a whole months memebership. I think this is ridiculous. Why would you make me pay $50 for 5 days when this is what I have been paying per MONTH? I feel betrayed and taken advantage of. I will never go back or advise anyone to ever go.
The Silverthorne Rec Center is a great facility! The work out area and indoor track are great. Love the pool, kiddie pool, slides and hot tubs. The locker rooms are clean and spacious. The kids programs are wonderful. We visit often in the winter months when it's too cold outside to have fun with young children. Rainbow Park, located adjacent to the rec center is the best playground in the area complete with tennis courts, running/biking track, toddler park, basketball nets, skateboard park and plenty of picnic tables.
This place is a great value for daily visitors. Indoor pools with water slides, hot tubs, work out facilities, sports courts. If you plan to take a day off the slopes, this is a great value if you have kids.
I joined the Silverthorne Rec Center for a month during my winter vacation. It has everything that I want in one place. I played pickleball and did water fitness classes, as well as swam laps. The women's locker room was always clean, although a little warmer and humid than I prefer. Don't count that as a complaint though......I should appreciate the humidity more since it's so dry out here! The one suggestion that I would make to them is to recognize the growing sport of pickleball and allow four courts during the alloted time. It's a great thing to have 25 people show up for an activity, but allowing only two courts (8 players) at a time while there are perhaps 2-5 people shooting baskets on the other side of the gym really is a downer.
We go there on cold winter days to get some walking and exercise on the machines. It's a clean and well-lighted facility with good equipment.
