This beautiful well maintained park is not far from University of Denver. Its a great place to walk, run, walk a dog, people watch or enjoy the scenery. This park is bustling year round since there is always sunshine in Denver. The lake is beautiful , you can even rent a paddle boat. Highly recommended! One of the best parks in the area.

Here here to the maintainers of this park. It does have its stages of beauty, but this place is fabulous. I've seen bald eagles and falcons here! Always interesting birds. It really holds a lot of people without being overbearing and there are so many events there. I love to walk and smell the roses. One of my favorites, I'm there almost every week.

This is a huge park with lots of activities- park, lake, paddle boats, volleyball, restaurants within walking distance, bikes to rent, well maintained and beautiful flowers!

Our family lives very near Washington Park and from Spring to Fall we are there almost every weekend, at least twice per month. It's one of the best parks in the city and we never tire of the beautiful grounds, picnic opportunities, or just taking a bike ride or paddle-boat tour.

I live close by and use the park all the time, especially for tennis. It's usually easy to pick up a game with the locals, provided you know how to play. I'd give it a 5 star rating except for the geese which are a real irritation. In fact, I'm tempted to lower my rating to three just over this issue. Otherwise, it's a great place to play and to hang out.

Busy and very yuppish. Great place for exercise or a picnic. Take your pets or kids. Many restaurants to get take away from. Good central location.

For years I have been going to Washington Park, Wash Park. A great city park to skate, bike, walk, watch, relax, and just be. After a death in the family, we all just got to together and walked around the park, talking, reflecting and thinking. It was great solace. It's perfect for a run or a volleyball game. Well worth a visit.

Wash Park can be quiet and serene or a riot of color and activity, depending on the day and time. I love to ride my bike around the path for exercise, watching the people as I go. On Summer evenings it's wall-to-wall volleyball and soccer. You can pedal boats on the lake or rent a bicycle carriage to ride through the park on with your kids or your sweetie. There are several historic buildings in the park, including the Eugene Field house, the band pavilion and the old swimming changing house. The park's maintenance buildings were the farmstead of the original occupants. The surrounding neighborhood has several little coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. Try Wash Perk, on Ohio and Emerson, or walk north from the park to Alameda Avenue and walk west toward the mountains. For non-locals, you can get there from downtown by taking the Broadway bus (#0) south to Mississippi Ave and then transferring to the #11 bus going east. It goes right past the park.

This is a premier park in Denver. It is a favorite for runners, dog walkers, walkers and strollers. It is beautiful throughout the year but if you are there in the summer, the gardens are stunning.

Wash Park is a key place to visit in Denver. There's an outer running path (about 2.75 in distance) as well as an inner path if you want to go shorter distances. Outer path is for the more serious runners (ie - you didn't just decide to start running today...and if you are out for a leisurely walk go to the inner loop for your own safety and everyone elses) Very safe for any out of town runners. There are facilities along the way, but locked during the winter.Visiting Denver in the Summer, pack a picnic, and join everyone else in laying in the sun while watching the mass volleyball games. On an early Saturday morning you will see masses of runners, people doing yoga, tai chi, and boot camps in the middle of the park. There is also boat rides (rental) and a playground for kiddos. People watching is nothing short of spectacular. Do be mindful of the path in the inner loop (it's marked for pedestrians and then cyclists). Try walking at dusk and you will get to see a typical amazing Denver sunset from the west side of the park. If you can bike/walk here it will be best because parking on the weekends is intense to say the least.

a nice walk and a little exercise....once in a while a squirrel or some geese. A beautiful setting to enjoy a little peace and quiet.

There's a lot going on at Wash Park in the summer. Great place to hang out with friends or to meet people.

Perfect place to get out in Denver. Always active with lots of people enjoying a variety of activities. Great gravel running paths and long enough to get in a good run. Only issues are geese (loads of them and their droppings) and bikers. I am an avid biker, bike everyday at home, but the bikers at Washington Park ride fast (too fast for the conditions and number of people). Be extra careful crossing the bike paths.

I love this park, it is great for the community around it. Parking could be challenging especially on weekends. If you want a quite place, this is not one of them, Great for families, young kids, and pets.
