Coors Field
It is hard to believe it has been 20 years! I bought a brick for the plaza between 19th and 20th Streets, never found it. The ball park is still a really great functional place, too bad there isn't a team to match.
I say unexpected because after only 2 hours of arriving in Denver, we strolled by Coors Field and a lovely little lady was standing at the ticket office asking if we'd like a tour. We were a few minutes late for the 11am tour, but after a quick ticket purchase, she walked us right in. We had 6 in our group and I can honestly say has been one of the best stadium tours we've taken! We've been to Fenway and Yankee Stadium but neither offered locker room and on the field action. Truly happy we stumbled across this tour!
Coors Field provides families and friends one of the best baseball venues in America. The design of the stadium provides a cozy atmosphere to experience major league baseball. From the 3rd baseline seats you also are provided a great view of the Rocky Mountains. The concessions and restroom facilities are also convenient (not always the case in other stadiums). The area is safe and there in plenty of parking around the stadium. As a former Detroit-er from a baseball crazy city, I have appreciated and enjoyed my four experiences at Coors.
We found cheap tickets for the rock pile which is an awesome experience (especially for a younger crowd). This ballpark is worth just getting a standing room only ticket and walking around to all the great views of the mountain, city and of course the field. One of my favorite parks I've been to.
I can't remember who the Rockies were playing but we were staying at a near by hotel and decided last minute when our other plans fell through to go to a game, we mostly walked around and drank beer and ate food but the stadium is just beautiful, I love the water feature and the practice area, it was a great time had by all that attended that day and there were about 10 of us. I will be back for a Rockies vs. Braves game for spring 2015!
Trip Advisor didn't give me the choice of a date, or age we were, that went back to the 90's!! My mother, brother and I went to one of the Rockies games back in 1997 and had a blast eating the peanuts, hot dogs, drinking sodas and watching the game with great enthusiasm because it was a family outing that we hadn't had in quite a long time. It was a fun time for my brother and I, as adults, to be able to share with Mom. She was so happy....bless her heart!! :) :) :) We all sang very loudly when it came time for the National Anthem....you could do that then. LOLThis venue wasn't available back then, or maybe it was that I didn't know how to use the Internet at that time, and wasn't familiar with the process. Either way, I'm giving you my true recount of the great time we had "back in the day," at Coors Field. We even tried to catch a foul ball or two, but no such luck. :( That didn't dampen our baseball experience in the least though!! Since that time I've been to a few games in Arlington, TX., but enough about that. Denver has always been like a second home for me because my Grandparents had a cabin up in the mountains in Evergreen, Co.,and our family went there every summer from 1950's through 1980's until it was sold. What vivid, happy memories I have of all my past in the Denver area, and going to a "real live ballgame" was one of the best!! Coors Field is a beautiful baseball field, and the mountains that you can view while at the games are exceptional!! I love Colorado...many memories come to mind every time I visit Denver and the surrounding areas.Don't know if they even have cracker jacks with prizes inside anymore, but I'd tell you to go find out for yourself because I believe you'll have a blast just like we did!! YOU GO ROCKIES!!!!Fun, fun, fun,Jo Jamison
Coors field is a great time to spend the afternoon or evening, great food, drinks, ball park is amazing.Go early for player autographs.Night games in the summer are hard to beat!
Assuming the weather is good, catching a baseball game at Coors Field is a great way to spend a summer afternoon or evening. If the game is slow, just gaze at the Rocky Mountains! Make a day of it and spend time in LoDo, which is next door. If there is a light rail station near you, use that and avoid the drive and expensive parking.
Coors field is a wonderfully hip yet family friendly venue! The shops inside are fun to browse and buy in between innings and I love that you can bring outside food into the stadium.
My favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon! Even if the Rockies don't win, it's worth the trip just to see the ball field. It is gorgeous and has a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains. Simply amazing!
