Hats off to the cast and crew for another great performance! We love small theatre and the Backstage is one of our favorites. You must take in a performance if you are in the area! Well worth the money! Can't wait for the next one!
Just attended Spamalot and the performance was excellent!! Lots of energy and laughs. The small theater makes it a great venue.
Wonderful show - great cast - went twice I liked it so much. If this is any indication of their other productions, then I say "go" - AND support the local ARTS. The theatre will be expanding later this year. Can't wait to see how it impacts the quality and reach of their productions. It should be awesome. Enjoy the show(s)!
We are from New York so we are spoiled. But we just saw Spamalot and it was great. We laughed the whole time. Last year we saw Avenue Q. It was very good also.
I saw Spamalot in San Francisco in 2011. I loved it. I didn't have a high expectation for a small town theater. I was wrong! Backstage theater surpassed the Frisco performance. It's a nice, homey atmosphere with incredible talent, from production to performance. It made for a laughter filled night.
We really enjoyed Spam-A-Lot. The performers were excellent and far exceeded our expectations for a small town theater.
Watch Monty Python's Spamalot. Presentation very good for a small market theater company. Nice show.
We saw The 39 Steps. It was a comedy spoofing Hitchcock. The cast was wonderful-- energetic and playful. This theatre is small, but they use the space wisely, both on stage and off. It was definitely a great nighttime activity if you are spending time in Breckenridge.
Small but perfectly formed! They put on great shows for the size of the theatre. The musicals are particularly good! If you are in town and there is a show playing go! They serve wine and beer and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about Breck.
WOW.. what a summer season they have planned. Spamalot and Shrek will be fantastic for my guests this summer.. one gets overload with symphonic shows. What a treat for everyone! Great walking to everything else in Breck too. Looking forward to coming back to this little theatre this summer!
A 30 minute bus journey to the theatre to find that the start time of the film was 8 pm and not 6.30 as had been advertised. We were not even told this when we bought our tickets at 6.10, but overheard a conversation about the mix-up. Our evening had been built round attending the film - a shorter skiing day and an early meal. A rather offhand attitude from the staff ended with us asking for a refund.
Over the years I have attended a number of performances at Breck's Backstage Theatre. I consider it one of the advantages of living in Breck. They provide and number of different events each year. All of them don't appeal to me, but I'm sure most would say that. Because of the variety they offer, there are usually several that do. I went to see Oliver last month. I had seen it years ago in a larger city production and I was favorably impressed with the job they did in our little theatre. Advantages were cost, you can really see the actor/actresses and hear them. You are really part of performance. After skiing if you can stay awake until around 10 pm. attending whatever performance is currectly in production would be a great way to spend the evening. They are now doing "A Woman in Black" and I already have my tickets for the performance.
This past weekend we went to Breckenridge for our annual Christmas weekend out. Every year we attend the Backstage Theater for a wonderful evening of entertainment. This years production of Oliver was the best. The cast was so talented with there acting, singing, dancing and playing the piano. The price is so reasonable for such a great evening and we would recommend it highly for the family to watch together.
This theater hold about 100 people so there is no bad seat. The rows are raked well so can see over the person in front of you. Mostly nice card table chairs with backs. The location about a block off Main Street is great.
I just saw the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre's production of Beauty and the Beast over Labor Day, and it was incredible. Everything from the set to the costumes to the talent was on par with a big city production and all for a quarter the price of what I would have paid for the same seat at a major theatre. Thank you Backstage for an incredible evening.
