I live in Colorado so have visited many of the states craft breweries. Broken Compass is very good and I would rate right up there with the best. Will most definitely be back. No food served but that is no problem! A must try for those who enjoy tasty bier!
I was able to visit this brewery with friends while visiting Breck. I had a blast! The beer was all very good and so was the service. The atmosphere was also very welcoming. They have games you can play while drinking your beer. Also, dogs are welcome! The staff was very friendly and I want to come back!
Broken Compass has great space, great bartenders and great beer! It was a worthwhile visit on a non-ski day. Highly recommend it.
While in Breck. for the super bowl weekend had a chance to visit this brewery. We ordered the sampler with ever beer that they had on tap. Except for a few I thought every beer was very good. The only ones that I didn't like was beers that I really never like to begin with but to each his or her own taste. I thought the coconut porter was outstanding! One of the owners came to our table and shared his story about starting the company and their process of making beer and that was very nice and enjoyable. Overall a great time and a place that you should try and visit.
If you love beer and visit Breckenridge do yourself a favor and check out Broken Compass. Just a short drive or cab ride from Breckenridge town center, this place has a superb selection of beers. You can try 8 tasters for $14, and the growlers can be refilled for $6, so the value is excellent. The coconut porter, chili pale ale, and double ipa were especially good. It's a small seating area, so I wouldn't bring an enormous group, but perfect for 4-6 people. Cool merch too!
This little spot is awesome. They have a great selection of home brewed beers and 3 different sample flights you can choose to get all the beer you need. The Coconut porter is my favorite and you can purchase growlers to take home of your favorite. They don't have food but they do have a pinball machine and a dart board.
We have been to several breweries in Asheville, California and throughout Colorado and Broken Compass is awesome! All of their drafts were good but there were several that I will have a hard time adjusting to not being able to get anywhere but Breckenridge. The Coconut Porter and Chile Pepper Pale Ale are two that come to mind. I don't usually care for pale ales and my husband feels the same way about Porters but we loved both!Dogs are welcome, drafts of many varying sizes are available and the staff was great. Cant wait to come back.
Being a beer guy, I loved the place the minute I walked in. Tasting room is really nice, clean, great seating area, and bartenders were really knowledge about the different brews. I especially liked the IPA and the Chocolate Stout. Also cant beat the price on the different taster options!!Brewery is located away from Main Street but has easy access via Public Transportation or just drive your own car.
Great find, very cool. Beer was awesome and very knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend. We even had the brewmaster come sit and talk about their beers.
My very first place I visited in Breck! I was really excited to try the beer here and I was far from disapointed!! Its a very chill, atmosphere with lots of people who love beer. I think its super cool that you can try all the beers in a flight for cheap and you can bring your own food in. Definitely a neat experience and yummy beer! A must do in Breck!!
We always try to hit a brewery or brew pub everywhere we go. We are beer people, for sure. For us, Broken Compass was the trifecta of brewery experiences. Great atmosphere (music, decor, cleanliness), great crowd (locals, visitors, and staff), and really great beer. My favorite was the Irish Red, as I am a fan of reds. My husband's favorite was the Chili Pepper Pale Ale. Much to my surprise, the coconut porter was fabulous! Never been a porter fan, but it was delicious. Very laid back place. You could even bring your dog! We loved joking with Ax. Great end to our anniversary weekend. Can't wait to come back!
This place is great! They have 12 or so beers on tap and sounds like more on the way soon (pumpkin) from what ford the brewer just told us. The brewer also gave us a tour and was really informative. You can tell he really loves what he does which is great because we love what he makes.
We went to check out Summit's latest brewery on Airport Road. It is about a block from Coyne Valley Road in a warehouse. The tasting room is nicely finished with beetle killed pine and and local flavor. About 8+ beers on tap. The chocolate porter and coconut porter are our favorite. Get the tasting flight with 8 different beers. Cheers !
My husband and I stopped in 2 times in our 2 day stay at Breckenridge. We shared a flight which was a great way to try all the beers! My favorite was the Coconut Porter and the Chocolate Stout, which is very unusual considering I usually do not like porters or stouts in general. All their beer was great! All very drinkable. I hope this brewery continues to grow and we can one day get bottles in KS! Until then this is a must stop when in the area! We would have loved to get a growler but we weren't sure how that would work since we were going to many other locations at different altitudes and did not want a mess in the car! I did not buy anything at the time but wished I had. When we came back I ordered a t-shirt for both me and my husband!
The is a nice new little brewery on the edge of town that will soon become a favorite of craft beer lovers. Their coconut porter is my new idea of dessert. I'm not a big beer drinker but this really was good! It tastes just the way they advertise it! The other beers are equally as good. They have a beer sampler where you can try all the beers. Also sell growlers in 2 sizes. Visited with a craft brew maker who was not affiliated at all with Broken Compass. He said he'd been there 2 days in a row and gave thumbs up to all their beers. Great place!
