This is a fun and interesting course…back 9 is challenging and in the mountains. Its always fun to play here. Its not perfectly manicured or has a country club pro shop but it will have everything you need.
Nothing to write home about. No particular hole that I even remember. Golf cart path was the worst I have ever seen. Holes were very poorly marked so that we ended up replaying several holes. Given the choice of playing golf here on a regular basis I'd switch sports to lawn tennis or rock climbing or fishing. Anything but golf at this course.
The 27 hole golf course is located in a beautiful and scenic area. I have played Pagosa Springs Golf Club, for more than ten years and have seen the condition significantly deteriorate in the past two years. At the present time, a bank is operating the business and has not been too interested in capital improvements or needed upkeep. The cart paths are atrocious, some of the greens are deterioating and the grass immediately alongside the fairways is too long.Having said all of these negative remarks, the course is still fun to play and could be great if cared for.
We played this golf course on our recent trip to the Pagosa Springs area. It is a beautiful course with the spectacular San Juan's in the background. The greens had recently been top dressed and were pretty bumpy, but other than that it was a great time . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable for a mountain course.
My husband plays here 3 times a week and never tires of it. The views are so uplifting. Sometimes he skis at Wolf Creek in the morning and plays golf here in the afternoon!
This 27 hole course is a must visit if you like to golf seriously or are just looking for a beautiful scenic course for fun. The scenery is breath taking!
Nice little golf course, with some beautiful views of the mountains. Green fees after 1:00 P.M. were good and the course wasn't too crowded. The fairways are decent and so are the greens. Some challenging holes, but I wasn't impressed with the sand traps. Good value for your dollar!
Played there every day of the week we stayed in Pagosa Springs and experienced all three of the 9 hole courses. The water hazards of the 'Meadows' course consumed many of my golf balls but the more wooded (and less water) 'Pinon' and 'Ponderosa' courses were (in my opinion) the better courses with some great elevated tees. The pro shop, course and restaurant staff were really friendly and helped make our experience there very memorable. Apart from the morning of Memorial Day, the course was not too busy and we managed to get straight out without having to book ahead. We didn't eat at the restaurant but noticed that the potions of food looked good. Restaurant and bar (great views from there, too) seemed to close at around 6 in the evening.
A beautiful course with great views of the surrounding mountains. Course has 27 holes. 2 of the nines are considered mountain courses with lots of elevation changes, trees and even an occassional bear. The third nine (The Meadows) is flat and more open but has lots of water. Fairways, greens and tees are in great condition. The sand traps are pretty bad (or I would have said the course was excellent). Usually have cart service on the course and a decent restaurant for meals before or after you play. A bit pricey for non-locals but a good course.
The Starter was just wonderful - he was patient with us and treated us well. The course was in the best condition and it was just plain fun.
18 holes on mountain landscape with some challenge. 9 holes on a meadow that will challenge you when the wind blows. Beautiful scenery from the meadows course. Narrower fairways on the piñón and ponderosa courses. Very green and well managed. Some issues with the cart paths and slow play on the weekends. Rates are fair. Friendly people.
The course gets busy during the Summer but you can always get on the nine that is not in use that day. The course is usually in nice condition, the price of golf is very reasonable. The practice facilities are not the greatest but you can get warmed up. The food is very inconsistent but the bar is new with plenty of selection. There is a nice Friday afternoon event for couples. Sign up early.
The course is always well maintained and fun to play. Each of the three courses is unique and challenging. Overall it is a very fun experience and the views around the course are wonderful. It's hard to beat golfing in the cool mountain air with beautiful mountain views.
Tough greens - wide open fairways. Very few golfers so no wait time. Fairways are in good condition for this time of year.
Pagosa is fairly isolated but this course is worth the trip in my opinion. If your a golfer snob and a perfectly pristine course is your number one priority you will find something to complain about, but the conditions are good for a public course. The views, unique layout, and mild temperatures more than make up for any slight imperfections. If you can enjoy the scenery and lack of crowds it will likely become one of your favorite courses.
