I cannot give enough compliments....Everyone was friendly and out guide Cruz was very accommodating.....will go again next time we are here! I have no plans to use anyone else when all we did was walk from our room to here. Thanks you everyone for all your help it was fun and memorable!
We had a blast on our tour! Had a couple of incidents and Cruz (our guide) was patient and extremely helpful. He always had a smile on his face which made it much more fun! We will definitely go back our next time to Durango!
What a great day! Our kids ranging in age from 5 to 23 will have lasting memories of our snowmobiling trip! Everyone had a great time. Our guide was very accommodating he kept everyone safe but also let the more adventurous of the bunch have a good time as well. We are going to make it a Christmas tradition every year to snowmobile with Ice Pirates. I would suggest a full ski mask or face cover and a backpack for water.
We had such a blast! We were the first group out on New Year's Day after a night of heavy snow. Our guide Colin did an awesome job. Since we had our 4-year-old daughter, we only did the hour tour and it was the perfect amount of time for her.
Firstly as the owner of the business I feel badly that we could not accommodate this customer. This Holiday season was much busier than usual and we had to turn away many customers. The volume of reservations and check ins created a very stressful situation for reservations. I reviewed the incident with our reservationist and as usual there are two sides to the story. This customer booked at the last moment and then requested additional sleds to be added to her trip. We were unable to do this as it would displace existing reservations that had been booked weeks in advance. We offered her two double sleds which would have allowed the 4 guests to do a trip. She refused as she wanted 4 snowmobiles as singles. She asked to cancel the reservation. She was unhappy with this and the reservationist could not continue to discuss it further as there were no options available and customers were checking in.I wish this customer could have taken a trip with us so that the review of our Business did not come down to a stress full telephone conversation during peak season instead of a Snowmobile Tour.
What an amazing way to see the mountains! We were staying in Durango and decided we did not want to ski but still wanted to experience winter in the mountains. The tours start out at the ski area which is a short beautiful drive north of Durango. We got there early and did some shopping and had some lunch at the ski area before our afternoon tour. They run a very professional service with great guides that were extremely helpful in making us feel comfortable and showing us a great time. The price was great, the views incredible, and snowmobiling is really fun! It was a great way to get in the mountains and much cheaper and easier than going skiing for the whole family. I highly recommend Snowmobile Adventures at Durango Mountain Resort. Be back next year!
Our guide Colin was awesome! We did the two hour trip. My husband was worried that we would have to go very slow but you really get to go at your own pace. The trails are the best part with fun jumps and turns. Beautiful scenery. Then in the meadow you really get to play. An absolute must do if you are in the area.
First and for most, I have taken a lot of different guided tours with different mediums, but I have never experienced the level of care that I received with snowmobile adventures and our tour guide Collin. We decided to do a two hour hour tour with our four year old and we had such a great time until I got sea sick (from all the bumps). Collin was so caring and checked on me at every stopping point asking if I could go on or if I needed to be escorted down hill. I toughed it out until the top of the mountain. It was breathtaking. I could not go on any longer, so Collin called down backup to escort me down while my husband and child continued on. They were so caring that even asked if I needed someone to drive down the snowmobile. I was ok to drive down. Once I made it down, they offered a couch for me to lay down on. We were staying in a condo in the village so I told them I would rather go there, they flagged down a bus for me to take me closer to the condo. MY husband and son continued on the tour and had a blast at the open flat area, where they were allowed to test the limits of the snowmobile. Collin was so sweet to even offer to play snow fight with my son while my husband "tested the snowmobiles limits." Overall the customer service and experience was amazing.
I tried out snow skiing & did not enjoy the "amusement park" and "commercialized" feel about it- if I'm in Colorado I want to see the scenery- not ski with thousands of people. So I made snowmobile reservations and I'm so glad I did! This was the highlight of our trip- if I hadn't have snowmobiled, I honestly would have gone home disappointed from the entire trip. Drew was our guide & he was so patient and informative- we did the 2 hour tour & got some awesome pics and had some free time to go fast in the meadow. If you want to actually see Colorado instead of skiing with thousands of tourists, you've got to book a snowmobile trip!
I was looking forward to our snowmobile ride and the actual experience far exceeded my expectations. It was fun, exciting and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Even though it is more expensive, I recommend riding your own snowmobile. Far more fun than sitting in the back seat. It's worth every penny. Would do it again.
Our family of 5 splurged on a snowmobile tour in December of 2011. The tour was the highlight of my entire vacation! It far exceeded my expectations. Jacob was our guide and he brought us to the most beautiful pristine locations! The kids didn't appreciate the beauty as my husband and I did, but they sure did love the ride!
We did the combination trip with the Railroad, and we were very impressed, with both the trip, and our guide!! It was worth every penney!
Our family of 6 went with Snowmobile Adventures on Christmas morning, with our kids ages 13 through 21. It was an absolute thrill for everyone!! I remember thinking to myself that I'd much rather be doing this than skiing, and it's much safer, too. Our guide took us to the top of a summit , signaled us to cut the engines, and we all got to take time for a photo shoot of the most surreal beauty of snow-capped mountains and unspoiled forest, blanketed with thick snow. The trails up to "The Meadow" were more beautiful than I could have imagined, and The Meadow was a fun place for everyone to let loose and do what they wanted. My 19 and 21-year-old sons were a little reluctant when i at first explained it was a guided tour, since they wanted to "go have fun" on snow-mobiles and didn't want a "boring guided tour." It was far from that, and all four of my kids said the snowmobile adventure was one of the most fun highlights of their lives. I would have to say that for my husband and myself as well ! Every day since then, i have relived the beautiful scenery, the adrenaline of going over the "whoops" in the snowmobile tracks and "getting air," and the thrill one of my daughters had getting off the snowmobile and sinking in snow up to her thighs! I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone of any age (they have snowmobiles where minors can ride behind their parent). This is truly THE way to have winter fun (without the knee, back, and shoulder injury risk of skiing) AND see the most magnificent scenery that you just CANNOT get to with a car.
