I was so pleased to discover this hidden gem in Fort Collins! It is full of amazing artifacts from all over the world. Take some time to check it out.

Very fun place to watch your little ones experiment with lots of exhibits and interactive displays. This is a great place to spend hours!

Exceptional exhibits are displayed in a congenial setting. And there is more: during the weeks an exhibit is shown, special programs and events related to the featured culture or region are presented. Fascinating!

Where else in a museum will you find an upside down carved wooden mermaid (known affectionately as maidmer) or a collection of Peace Corps artifacts, or a collection of miniatures that keep children mesmerized. We are fortunate in Colorado to have an outstanding art museum in Denver -- and another In Fort Collins. We have history museums, and a museum about trains, but only in Fort Collins do we have a GLOBAL museum. Although the museum has not been open long, already they have taken us around the world with amazing exhibits from far and near. There is never a line to get in, and the docents are well-informed and anxious to help guests to get the most out of the exhibits. The museum also hosts many special events for adults and children. It doesn't take half a day to see everything; you can slip in a visit and escape into another world for just a bit.

Current exhibit (March 2014) is about India. Like all exhibits at this place, it is quite small but very well put together. Another one I liked was the one about the Andes. Exceptionally well put together. Exhibits change every few months. Keep checking.

This is a fabulous little museum with rotating exhibits. Watch for changing themes and items. We love to visit here every few months and we always stay for a few hours. The kids and Grandma love it, so this is definitely worth a family visit. We would love to see the nativity collection again during the holidays...

I have lived in Fort Collins for over 10 years and just discovered this hidden treasure. I went to see the special showing of the nativities in Dec. The room with the minis was a treat. I'll go back again.

They had a great display of nativities from around the world. What a lovely exhibit that was displayed with much care and love.

Recently my husband and I picked our granddaughter up from middle school and had an hour or so to spend with her. We knew the Global Village had a traveling exhibit called "Birds of a Feather" so we stopped in . We were greeted by a charming volunteer at the desk who explained what the current exhibits were--two permanent and one temporary. The birds exhibit was quite amazing, some gorgeous, some funny, some quirky, but all fascinating.We also enjoyed the permanent exhibits, especially the miniatures from so many different cultures. Hope to go back soon with others of our grandkids. This place is for all ages!

This fun little museum in downtown Fort Collins is worth an hour or so. There is a "themed" exhibit. . . the one I saw was birds in various forms and from various countries. The previous exhibit was of nativity scenes. There is also an interesting exhibition with miniture houses from around the world and artifacts from many different countries.

I don't think a lot of people know about this sweet little museum in Old Town Fort Collins. It was pretty empty the day I visited with my husband. It's pretty special, though, with artifacts from around the world brought to Fort Collins by Peace Corps volunteers. There's a really nice display of miniatures that would be fun for kids.

The reason people say that it's a gem and a surprise great experience is because the outside of the building is ridiculously stupid. There is no other way to describe it. It makes no sense, it tells you nothing about the wonderful things inside. The signs are basic and boring. There is nothing that beckons you to discover and learn about these cultures. I think a museum needs to entice you to take a look and expand your world. SO, once you get past that - it is a very nicely researched and displayed museum. They take care to gather an amazing assortment of artifacts on each subject and explain things rather nicely. Have a school group with a day pass? Go to the Global Museum!! If you are with a group of friends you might take a good 20 minutes coaxing some people in your group inside as, again, the outside does not reveal that it is pretty cool inside. i hope they fix that someday. Good marketing always helps......

Our group of friends really enjoyed seeing all the folk art and dolls from around the world with examples of the history and homes of many cultures. The doll collection alone is incredible, from every corner of the globe, expressing cultures and art. The revolving exhibits have been a step into a new world that most of us will only see in museums, a way to travel to those exotic locations. The last time we were there there was a traveling art and photography exhibit from Haiti, some really talented artists. The gift shop has some very nice hand made fair trade jewelry, toys and clothing accessories at very reasonable prices. This is a jewel in Fort Collins, we will be going back and also recommending it for other friends to take their kids and out of town guests.

This museum is a hidden gem in Fort Collins and represents the international interests of our eclectic community. There are lots of well seasoned travelers here in FTC and this museum has great exhibits featuring the collections of our local people. The exhibit on Tibet was amazing with a great collection and variety of items. If you like folk art, there is a permanent exhibit at the museum that's definitely worth looking at in addition to the special exhibits. I plan to go to the exhibit on Melanesia before it closes tomorrow!

With three different galleries there is something for everyone to enjoy, and life through miniatures in the Mundoville Gallery is always a hit with the kids! I have taken my girls (8, 6 and 3) to see the last several Main Gallery exhibits showcasing folk art from Africa, Tibet and now Melanesia. There are many treasures to view that inspire thought and imagination, and we always leave having learned something new and interesting.
