这个冈多拉就是上阿斯蓬山的那条,看起来蛮短的,可是单程走下来可能都都需要二十分钟。冬天有pass可以买,价钱忘记是多少了。反正我觉得坐着就又喜又怕。
Odds are you will meet someone interesting on the ride up. Efficient loading and unloading keeps the line from ever extending very far.
I don't ski, but going upto to the top of Ajax mountain is well worth your time. The view was amazing all the way. You get to see all of Aspen and the surrounding countryside. You can also eat at the top and take your time enjoying the view, you get $10 off your meal with your Gondola ticket.well worth doing.
It is locally known as the "bongdola" Much pot smoking. The views are magnificent, Skiing is second to none. Slopes are not dressed like the Alps. Good for some, not so nice for others
Never more than a few minutes to load even when there is a line. Staff are great and keep everything moving.
Think this is the one we went on.In town and at the top of the mountain Brides and grooms show up for weddings..So beautiful in the fall..
Great place to kick back have a beer and healthy lunch. Terrific soup and salad while watching folks ski down to the gondola
The queen of all gondola rides. Like the Star Ferry in Hong Kong, or a ride on a double-decker in London, your Aspen experience is not complete without a visit to the Silver Queen gondola.
Really enjoyed this place, you don't find quality like this in Europe!!!! A must for great value & quality! :)
The Gondola is the only way to get to the top of Aspen ( Ajax) mountain if you are not skiing. In less than fifteen minuets the lift will whisk you over skiers below to the top . When you reach the Sundeck at the end of your ride, the restaurant and bar are excellent. Best of all is the view of the snow covered magnificent Rocky mountains.
We travelled up Aspen Mountain while on a day visit to Aspen. Even though we did not ski, SQ sold passes to go up to the restaurant for lunch. It was a smooth ride up, the scenery was breathtaking.
The Silver Queen Gondola departs from a station behind the Ajax (like the detergent, not the football team) Tavern. The gondola tickets cost about $15 each and it takes roughly 15 minutes to get up the mountain and back. There are seats on both sides of the gondola providing a 360 view of the surroundings. As Aspen begins to disappear from behind, the Elk Mountains loom into view. As early as September they become capped with snow, contrasting the bright orange foliage of the foothills surrounding the mountains. At the top there is a lodge and occasionally a friendly photographer who will take your picture for free allowing you to see, and decide whether or not to buy it, when you return back down on the gondola. The gondola is pretty smooth, but not for those prone to vertigo. Overall, a good sightseeing stop on your way through Aspen.
I went here when I was 6 years old and I still remember it and talk about it to this day. The ride is sometimes bumpy but it's worth it! It goes slow and the view is worth it!! You won't regret doing this!!
The gondola ride is a fun way to see Aspen from above. The ride takes about 15 minutes to the top and once there you can 5 minutes or 5 hours depending on your interests. Kid friendly things to do are here (frisbee golf, bean bag toss). We got to sit on a patio on the west side of the lodge (away from the gondola line, which can be a bit noisy)...and there was perfect silence, not even the sound of wind. Sitting above the tree line gives one a different perspective. You can really appreciate the beauty and vastness of the nearby mountains. We also were above airplanes making their landing approach at the nearby airport. The ride down was more interesting (see pic) and gave a great perspective on Aspen. As others have noted be sure to check their schedule in advance, as it changes depending on the time of year.
The Gondola only runs on the weekends after Labor Day. That is information that would have been helpful. The views are spectacular. The restaurant is normal ski food.
