If you want bumps - Beaver Creek is your place. Best bump runs. Long groomed runs are abundant at Beaver Creek as well. Easy to get around the mountain - restaurants are well situated (food is expensive).Vail is huge with a variety of runs and restaurants. It will take several days to ski every area of Vail.

Lifts close at 3:30PM, some actually close at 3PM. Grooming is nice. Tickets are much cheaper if you order them in advance, but are attached to specific people, so husband in the morning and wife in the evening does not work with their ticketing system. You would have to buy 2 tickets. The skiing itself is good, but not as good as Vail, which has much more space. This is a newer resort than Vail, so it has more ski-in, ski-out.

Some of the best facilities in the world, snow conditions are fabulous. So many lifts to choose from, you never get to cover it all. Well worth every penny, top notch service and unparalleled mountain.

Pros:-Large area for skiing-Can find a run without crowds-Almost ski-in/out-Nice village, plenty of restaurantsCons:-Expensive, it cost us more than go to prestigious places in Europe (from Canada)-The mountains are not breathtaking, more like high hills/plateau-Getting in/out via airport:The Eagle airport is close (still cost $150 on a taxi), but the United partner airline is a time-bomb. They cancelled the flight explaining it as "mechanical". The number of people on the plane was around 12 and it was very suspicious they did not want to fly an empty plane. -Getting in/out , driving to Denver:Unpredictable if it snows. It took us 5.5hrs on a shuttle from the Eagle airport to Denver airport. There are lots of drivers inexperienced driving in snow: 7 accidents on the way.Conclusions:- Less crowds for more area of skiing - Connection to Denver can be very painful and unpredictable. For the number of commuters they could've put a train like it is done in Europe.- Moneywise you will be better off in Europe (except Switzerland)- View and mountain "wow" factor is not there

Went the first week of Feb and the weather was perfect. It snowed at night and sunny during the day. All the runs were open with fresh powder. My favorite was the back bowls at Vail.Pros:Easy to get around with or without a car; We had a car and it was easy to find parking during the day and parking is FREE at night. Bus between Beaver Creek and Vail works well too.Runs/lifts are not crowded especially early in the day - could've been because of the Ski Championships but over 4 days we never waited in line. Staff/lift operators are all very nice and helpful.Cons:Nightlife was alright not as wild as I expected. Insider Tips: Get a FREE same-day lift ticket with your boarding pass. Good way to squeeze in a couple of hours of skiing/snowboarding when you first arrive. Also, the "Turtle Bus" is a great way to get back to your hotel after a night of multiple beverages.

Be careful if using the Beaver Creek reservation system. The website features some hotels that are no where close to the ski slopes. Even worse, some reservation staff are not familiar with the properties; The reservation clerk put me on a shuttle that did not service the hotel in my reservation. I ended up having to take a cab to get to the correct hotel at 10 PM at night and am out of pocket over $90.

If you can drop everything, go to Colorado now. This is the world championship and the USA has it on home turf. So much is free: free transportation in the area, free races, free food and drink after the races. The stands were full for Lindsey Vonn on Tuesday but not today for men's Super G today. The races and day events are centered in BC; medal ceremony and nightlife ( beer tent, liquor booths, free concert) are in Vail. It really doesn't matter too much where you stay because you must travel back and forth between Vail and BC and there is so much free transportation. Also, free giveaways of free daily ski pins and other items in both locations. If you love skiing, figure you will never be able to go to a Winter Olympics, then you must get there before it ends , Feb. 15.

We skied both Beaver Creek and Vail this past week. Vail is huge and Beaver Creek is very nicely laid out. Our preference is Beaver Creek but you won't be disappointed with either one.

Spent 3 days downhill and 1 day XC skiing at Vail. Despite less snow than usual, the slopes were well groomed and there was a wide range of terrain for "Blue Cruisers" like my wife and I. There were few people on the slopes during the week. XC skiing on the Vail Golf Course was also great with some tracks and some groomed trails.

Jon Buchli is extremely rude. Jon Buchli stopped a random skier for using profanity and pulled his pass when he was supposed to be giving us a ski lesson. He then spent the rest of the day on his high horse talking to people on his cell phone about the guest whose pass he pulled. WHY DID I WASTE MY MONEY? Chill out and do your job sir.

We have consistently found Vail to be the best in US skiing. In good natural conditions, there is a lot of variety in the back bowls, but in low snow periods there is excellent snowmaking in the front of Vail and at Beaver Creek to maximize skiing.

Vail - nothing like on earth !!! I stayed in Beaver Creek but took the opportunity to ski in Vail for too days. You just need to get the shuttle... Vail is considered on of the best ski resort in the world and it is easy to understand why. The trails makes beginners and experts skiers happy. Don't forget to try EPICMIX. It will really make a difference!!

Great service, great restaurants and shops at the village, and just spectacular views at the beaver creek mountain. I highly recommend the sky school, we all had a blast and cannot wait to come back!

Had the absolute worse private lesson with an older woman. She yelled at us and would ski in front of us and then just wait for us to ski after her. Couldn't wait for it to be over. Didn't allow us to say we understood by saying ok. She would yell, don't say ok. Needs to enter charm school

In 2014 Vail appears to be the best place to hit champagne Powder in november! The conditions were the best ever and the snow was dry and super light. With 5 days of 9-4 skiing and 110000 vertical feet Satisfaction is quarentied.
