Beautiful little lake. You must know where to go and things to do for fun and relaxation. Here are just a few. Rent a boat or kayak at marina or campground and cruise the lake and enjoy the different ducks geese etc. Rent bikes at hardware and ride around lake, picnic on Sunny Side rd at picnic benches 1 mile from town on the lake. Spend a day just getting in touch with nature in the peace and quiet don't pick holidays it's too busy. Take a walk on the nature trail in back of community center on North Rd. Play golf and get a massage at Peek and Peak Resort. Too relaxing , take a trail ride at one of the nearby stables or go to NASCAR Speedway. If that isn't exciting enough take the Zip line adventure through the trees at the Peek, that should get you adrenaline going. Lots other things to do but you will have to ask at one of the stores or some or the eateries.
launch for kayaking was convenient but had a stupid chain across. Could get around it but it was annoying.
A small town on a small lake in southwest New York with an permanent invitation to stop and enjoy the sights and sounds. Set on the lake, the town has a few shops, restaurants and vacation homes within walking distance. Check out the candle factory (plus an outlet) as well as the antique store for specials. A drive around the lake provides glimpses of the variety in second homes dedicated to vacationing. Great place to relax and unwind.
Not much to do but drive around the lake which is a pretty drive. The very small town does not have much in it, a candle factory/outlet, an antique store, which was very nice, a small carryout, and a small hotel/restaurant. For a very quiet vacation destination you could check it out.
Looks like a lovely lake. The town is very small but nice to take a 15 minute stroll through which will include visiting all the stores. Nice place to stop but don't plan on making a day, half a day, or few hours out of it. Hour tops which can include lunch.
Some cute little stores and great restaurants. Very near Peek N' Peek and the wineries in North East. Loved it!
This was a surprising find for us! Great shops. Really nice artisan products, and a really nice antiques shop. The wine shop has great bumper stickers and next door his wife has lovely things. I definately recommend this town.
Our Own Candle Co. store and outlet have wonderful prices. Beautiful gift items etc. Lakeside Market has about anything you need in a pinch. Z's on the Lake has great food and prices. Addies Ice Cream has wonderful icecream and Blue Heron offers a Bed and Breakfast along with a bar and restaurant with nice food items. Our Own Candle Company also has a coffee shop and antique market in town also. The Water Wheel Building has some interesting items in it.
Both the town and lake are very charming. There's ice cream all over, limited traffic, and no chain stores or restaurants. Some people say the houses are blocking the lake view, but I really didn't mind, as the houses were so matching the place. It's very relaxing to drive through this "city" on the way to our hotel in the next town.
My mom and I and my son stopped by Addie's for the first time today. We had excellent customer service and the best ice cream we have ever had! It's even very relaxing and nice seating outside. Can't wait to go again! Thanks so much!
Great homemade ice cream and waffle cones...hugh serving for a great price! We got it just in time on July 4th before the crowd came in!
Just exploring on a Sunday afternoon and glimpsed the north end of this lake, it was so pretty we decided to circle it. Findley Lake is beautiful from every viewpoint, and each turn unfolds to reveal another wonder.
Park your car and take a stroll down through this charming little town. Plenty of small locally owned shops to wander through, very east to walk around. Be sure to stop down by the water and snap a few pictures by the lake or the old (but kind of new) water wheel. A nice little stop for families to stretch their legs.A few restaurants are right in town to enjoy a meal, summer and warm weather they offer outdoor seating with views of the lake. Also a small little grocery store with ample parking and basic groceries. Many activities through out the summer months-and even winter holidays!
we love to go shopping there so many nice shops with unique items to choose from & the music was awesome fun to sit by the lake and relax
We visited the ceramics shop and the candle shop. Both were clean and had a very large assortment of products.
