If you want a less crowded mall then this the one for you. Easier to get around because it's much smaller than crossgates. Large macys, sears, ll bean, boscovs, Christmas tree shop, Barnes & noble are the main big stores. Food court isn't anything special. Movie cinemas are newer and nice. Whole foods is a new store that opened a few months ago. They have 2 restaurants Cheesecake Factory & PF changs. They also have a few more eating establishments that aren't in the food court (yogurt, Annie's pretzels, moes Mexican & five guys burgers). Surrounding roads are usually very crowded so that's the down side to the place. Also parking on the sides of the mall is always challenging cause it's always crowded. Parking on the ends by macys or sears are your best bet but if you have trouble walking that could be a long walk to get into the main part of the mall. Much less crowded during the holiday season if you like to get in & out in a hurry.
Albany takes its malls seriously. On a rainy Saturday these places are packed. Come the snow season - fugetaboutit...While not as pleasurable as the larger and more easily assessable Crossgates Mall a decent shopping experience can be had here - once you get in. The traffic is busy - very busy - in the surrounding area. Parking on rainy weekends can be a nightmare as you are challenged for spots.Anchor stores include Macy's & Sears. A nice sized Barnes and Noble provides a much needed relaxed browsing area if a shopping break is required. Regal Cinemas are on-site as well. The Food Court is boringly predictable. Restaurants include the overrated Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's.Again - once you enter - Colonie Center is fine however larger and more interesting / comfortable shopping experiences can be found elsewhere.
The Colonie Center Mall has a good mix of stores...we particularly like the artisans' store, Boscov's, LL Bean, Sears, and Barnes and Noble. And they have really good booths and one of the best watch shops in the area, along with movies and eateries!
My wife has been a fan of Christmas Tree Shops from long before they arrived in the Capital District. On a return visit to Albany, we decided to visit Colonie Center for a visit to Christmas Tree and a chance to walk the corridors of the mall...mall-walking is popular in FL. We were impressed with the mall update...a new multi-screen cinema, comfortable Stickley-type furniture places to sit and relax (for non-shoppers). New stores and restaurants have been added since our last visit...Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, LL Bean and more.
I stop there at least once a week. The parking is easy. It isn't packed like Crossgates Mall. Various stores that I like to frequent. I haven't been to the movies there but I like the stores.
Been here many times and have always been pleased with quality of stores and restaurants. You can certainly get about anything you want in one of the stores.Barnes&Noble,Boscovs,etc.
The shopping experience was excellent. We ate in the food court, saw a movie and finished our day with some shopping. I especially love Charming Charlie. The parking on the Wolf Rd. side was horrendous, but if you go around back where Christmas Tree Shop and Boscov's are, you'll have little trouble.
I would go to colonie center over crossgates, very nice stores, clean and not a lot of crowds, which is something that I like very much with the exception of holidays. Love most of the stores in colonie center, especially Christmas Tree shop and it is very close to home which is another plus.
this mall has everything for shopping, great stores. nice restaurants and a food court. hoyt cinema has comfortable seats with excellent movie selection. mall has a post office.
Colonie Center is a huge mall with lots of places to shop and eat! The regal movie cinemas there is my favorite one of all, the seats are great because they are stacked up, only one problem, food prices. The food there is extremely expensive and they will not let you bring any food in if its not bought at the movie theatre. I suggest that you eat before you go in unless you are willing to pay nine bucks for popcorn. The food court is good I bought from Taco Bell one time and the burritos tasted horrible. GameStop is my favorite store there (i am a gamer) and the sears has great service, they were so persuasive they talked me into buying a tool chest. I love Colonie center and I hope you will too!
Colonie Center is a large mall - with Macy's and Sears and every other store around!!The Christmas Tree Store is also there - very popular in this area. As is LL Bean.Alot of places to eat as well. Alot of walkingEasy drive from anywhere in the great north east.
Colonie Center is a nice, well kept mall, especially around Christmas. I go here for The Cheesecake Factory and not much else. All the best stores are in the less nice but larger Crossgates Mall. With better stores I would come here more often.
This use to be a busy mall, but now it has many empty stores and not to many people.
Magnet-store mecca. Provides many low-paying jobs while the mega companies siphon off the profits. Don't look here if you are looking for locally produced products.
Hit Macy's to catch up on my Christmas Shopping - I must say, that particular Macy's INC department is the best one I've been to!!!!
