Having never been here before I had heard much about this establishment through some I know whom have visited. Somewhat sceptic, I can definitely say, not only did I have a paranormal experience, but personally heard it as well as the strangers I was with! At no time was I in fear for my life, but I must say the hairs stood up on my neck multiple times in reflection of the responses I received. The (new) owners of this establishment not only gave me a piece of mind, and a sense of ease of its history, but also informed me of the history of the lost souls whom I did encounter. I will definitely visit Rolling Hills again without a doubt but I encourage all who visit to be polite to these souls that linger, and respect there eternity that they circum, for this is no joke!!!!! Respect and recieve the surroundings you encounter for it is very real!!!!!!

I took my two grandmas to visit here, it was dark out, and we pulled up just looking at their signs and then a jeep pulls up, and the owners get out and start saying this is private property and I said I'm sorry I didn't know it's dark I wanted to look at the signs and the woman with a very very snotty attitude well there's signs all over, you need to leave, I wasn't doing anything wrong the woman was a complete b**** and said wel just look on the website, we have a website, go there, she was so snotty it made my grandmas nervous, again we didn't do anything wrong just looking at the sign in my headlights, then her husband I presume chimed in and he was understanding about the situation, and gave us business cards, then the wife got going again about how there are signs everywhere, which I now know are just black "no trespassing" signs around the building NOT in the driveway, then the man seemed to flip a switch and he said well the neighbor called and said someone was breaking in, so here we are dropped everything and came here. Again I said I'm sorry turned around and left, this was completely ridiculous and it even said on Google they were open until 10, and it was only 8:30 so I highly recommend you DONT go here the people who own this place are complete A-holes and down rite pieces of s***

Once again a very active night. Word of wise, the more you inner act the more active it is. I had flashlights that are called mini magnums very inexpensive that spirits turn on and off and brought a pengalim, all for asking questions. I took a new person with me and they cant wait to go back again.

Had a group of 9 adults taking the 3 hour ghost tour on a Saturday evening, 6 - 9pm. Website clearly stated be there 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Well, we were there, door was locked and no one came out to greet us for 20 minutes. Yes, it was cold and windy. We had to wait another 10 minutes before we were allowed inside where everyone had to register. We had already done this on line. Besides our group, there were about 25 more folks scheduled for the same tour. Thought participants were limited to ensure a paranormal siteing. Our ghost tour guide had lots of stories as we moved from floor to floor and room to room. Interesting stories of prior residents and workers however, spoke very fast making it difficult to remember which spirits belonged where. The tour lasted roughly 45 minutes and then, everyone was left on their own to investigate the various floors and rooms on our own. There was very limited lighting therefore, had to use flashlights. Too many people wandering around making too much noise for any ghosts to make their presence felt. This was the whole point for our visit. The various rooms were staged / decorated by the owner. Hard to be creditable when this is done. The owner has the past history of the asylum down pat but tours need to be in smaller groups with a tour guide throughout the designated time frame. We left feeling disappointed.

This was a tour of a closed "poor farm" with anticipation of seeing/hearing/feeling spirit activity. Being the skeptic I am I didn't get as excited for meeting ghosts, the historical value however, makes it worth while. Our tour guide was well spoken, engaged and educated, he did a great job. If it's chilly outside make sure to dress warmly, it was actually colder indoors than out the day we went. The ticket price might be prohibitive for some, i can appreciate the costs associated with keeping the property open, but having to pee in an outhouse didn't make me feel like the $30 was well spent. This is a great couples activity, especially in the fall season. I hope to see this tour continue on, history is preserved at Rolling Hills Asylum.

i cant believe some of these comments... Sharon is awesome so dont believe these nasty comments..i never had a problem waiting in line to get in the building,,going inside and filling out a forms,, if you dont like a overlap tour then maybe dont go on that day, theres plenty more tours you can book,,thats prob why she has a calender of each tour before you register...so obviously if you didnt read that you certainly didnt read the rules...ive been there several times and still havnt sat in each room...if its crowded go to a diff room or simply ask if you can join in...i have and met some awesome people... ive been there with 50 people as well and never had a problem.. i dont blame her for not wanting drunks in her building..its dark ..steep ramps...if someone was to get hurt whos fault would it be?

I am sorry if you felt that the owner was rude, but it is her rules. We don't have a way to detect if you were drinking, and management reserves the right to make the judgment call to refuse entry. It was decided after the owner as well as security could smell the odor of what was suspected to be an alcoholic beverage. In the interest of safety for you, as well as the other attendees you were not allowed in. It may be that it was an inhaler, however if you were under the influence of alcohol, and you fell walking around an old building or any number of issues, it would not have been good. We did refuse entry, as we suspected alcohol use. When it comes to the safety of our guests it is better to be safe than sorry. I am very sorry for any inconvenience that this caused you.

I have to say that before we left to embark on our "ghost hunt" I read the reviews above...might I say that all of the negativity posted was NEVER present on our tour. The staff (who are all non paid volunteers) were beyond friendly and informative. They even made a point of getting to know our names throughout the 3 hour psych hold.Did we experience any paranormal activity...no... But then again, we didn't know what to look for. Our group went for a fun night of history and roaming around. It is a very cool feeling to be in a building where you can freely roam with your flashlights. With that being said, I wish that a little more history of the land and maybe some more stories of the people who once resided there were told. But if you want to go and experience a different type of "spooky" experience, that is all authentic and not a show then this is the tour for you.Wear warm clothes, bring a flashlight and a camera and happy hunting!

I am sorry that you encountered an issue with security. I will be taking this information back to my staff and making sure others do not have the same issue's that you had. I hope you come out again very soon!

I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your time at Rolling Hills Asylum. I would like to apologize at whatever I may have said to upset you, as this is the first time some one has ever had an issue with my tour. As a property manager for several restaurants and hotels I am surprised to hear this. Again I am very sorry for however I offended you.I hope you will come give us a try again

WOW WOW WOW!!! A group of four went. All ladies and we had the best time. I thought i would be too scared to enjoy it, but I was wrong. Sharon the guide/owner is amazing. She lead us through the facility giving us stories and names of people who once walked those hallways. After the tour (about an hour) you are locked in and using a flashlight you do your own ghost investigation. We communicated to a spirit through the flashlight and we saw a smoke/shadow spirit. One of the ladies in our group also had her sleeve tugged on twice. We loved being on our own roaming the rooms and halls. You could spend all night in one room waiting for something to happen or you could try and see the whole place, which is enormous. If you like spooky things definitely come here and go on a tour. Well worth the money, which I thought was a steal. PS we did the Thursday night ICU tour. Loved it, so did everyone in our group.

We recently drove up to Bethany to do a 8hr Captive experience at Rolling Hills Asylum. What an amazing place and the folks who run it are very knowledgeable about its history and very nice. They take you on a guided tour throughout the building and then your on your own for the remainder of the evening in lock down. I will admit I was skeptical, but after spending the night we not only heard things but caught things on camera and audio that we did not realize until we returned home and started going through the footage. I highly recommend going to see this place, even if you dont believe its haunted or in ghosts, the history and the fact that you get to roam around and check out this building is worth it.
